We Are All Newtownians From This Day ForwardWe are Americans. Not red, not blue, but red, white and blue! Like Americans everywhere, our grief and sympathy for the children and adults brutally murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary, and for their families, is profound and lasting. This petition seeks to create a memorial at Sandy Hook School that will serve as a lasting reminder of a community's, and a nation's, grief over the loss of these precious Americans.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William Wheeler

Enforce Firearms Laws Instead Of Altering Second AmendmentProtect the Second Amendment without altering it in any way as another petition declares. The Second Amendment is sacred and as important to our Constitution as the First and without the Second in place, we will surely lose our First Amendment. Laws are on the books and must be enforced to ensure criminals who use firearms irresponsibly are punished to the fullest extent of the law each and every time.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Raulston

Anti-gun violenceBan the sales of semi-automatic weapons and handguns. Limit the amount of ammunition sold to anyone each month. Same Sex Marriage in IllinoisSeveral of my friends are homosexual and have been together for several years. They would love to get married and have children but, the state of Illinois has not yet approved this. They deserve the right to be married and are entitled to the legal rights that go along with that. This should be a priority for our state, to grant it's same sex citizens marriage rights.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jaclyn

guns don't kill, people with guns do. banning guns is not the answer.in light of this weeks shooting in connecticut, it's time to make sure guns do not fall in the hands of the irresponsible, and not blame those of us who take having a gun seriously. its time to enforce stricter gun control laws. banning guns for everyone only leaves them in the hands of the bad guys.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by babette crowder

Mental Health system ReformThe current mental health system today is failing society. Mass killings at theaters, schools and office places are becoming increasingly more often. All , mentally ill people, who family knew was ill but was unable to get any help. When I was 16, my mother, who had Bipolar disorder, stood off with Police and ultimately was shot and killed. It's time to make a difference, keep them on the needed medications, give families the help they need to prevent such HORRIBLE tragedies.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jennifer Mann

KS State: Investigate the Abuse of Children Involved with Westboro Baptist ChurchThe Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group masquerading as a religious organization that forces their children to participate in virulent hate speech and brainwashes them into their culture of hatred. Fred Phelps, the pastor of the church, is accused of physical abuse by his own son—and the psychological trauma and abuse the current children of the church suffer is apparent. These children should be protected by the State of Kansas through an investigation into the safety of their home environments.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jennifer Albin

Gun Clubs As Solution To Managing GunsGuns are not being managed. The guns that killed so many children belonged legally to the gunman's mother. The gunman's mother was the first to die. We've got to get guns out of the house and into the hands of gun clubs who can be required to lock them up and only allow use at the gun club. People would therefore would not be denied the right to own a gun but they could not have them on their person or anywhere but at a licensed, inspected, and controlled gun club.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ken Boggs
