A 'Do Not Mail' List to prevent junk mailCitizens can subscribe to a 'Do Not Call' registry to prevent unsolicited phone calls from telemarketers. Shouldn't they also have the option of preventing unsolicited advertizements through the U.S. mail? Currently, the only way to stop receiving junk mail is to pay for it; but we should not have to pay to end junk mail.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sasha Kay

End the Contribution Ceiling on SS and MedicareWhen I was a high earner I learned that after I made $119,000. I didn't have to make any more payments to SS and Medicare. Why did I get that benefit when I was earning so much more and could afford my share. Now that we need more SS revenue, this entitlement should be eliminated.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by jacqueline Saint Anne

Preserve The Sanctity of The Horseshoe Bar Penryn Community PlanThe Horseshoe Bar Penryn Community Plan is designated as the "controlling document" for development in the area. The Placer County Community Development Agency and its umbrella agencies have repeatedly disregarded this important fact in approving high density development projects along Penryn Parkway. Such action is detrimental to the citizens of Penryn.114 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Charles Gragg

Agent Orange Birth Defect ChildrenIn 2008 Congress has passed legislation (PUBLIC LAW 110-387 SECTION 408) to provide comprehensive health care for the birth defect A/O children of Vietnam combat vets exposed to Agent Orange.. Five Years LATER, the VA has STILL NOT provided the care legislated by Congress in 2008. They stall and verbally tap dance for year after year. My mission with this petition is to EMBARRASS the VA bureaucrats into simply obeying federal law PL 110 387 SECTION 408. I will do so, or bust a gut. All help appreciated. Tax Fairness For Renewable EnergyIn this country the Fossil Fuel industry has a monopoly and is heavily subsidized by the tax payer. This petition is not against Big Oil. This petition calls for the same dollar amount of Tax Subsidies, Credits and Tax Breaks to be given to the RENEWABLE ENERGY SECTOR as Big Oil gets (4-6 Billion dollars per year for the last 30 years) OR END SUBSIDIES FOR THE FOSSIL FUEL INDUSTRY ENTIRELY SO THE RENEWABLE ENERGY SECTOR CAN COMPETE ON A LEVEL CAPITALISTIC PLAYING FIELD. We are tired of the Republicans saying the Democrats are trying to pick winners on renewable energy, when Ronald Reagan and the Hypocritical Republicans picked BIG OIL as the winner 30 years ago. Reagan and his Saudi Arabian Thugs Big Oil drove our country into this Expensive Middle Eastern Oil National Security Nightmare3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Hank Gagnon

Senate Democrats: Don't touch the Medicare eligibility age.Rumors are swirling in D.C. that Republicans might be willing to include higher tax rates for the wealthy in a deficit deal if Democrats agree to dangerous benefit cuts like raising the Medicare eligibility age from 65 to 67. Raising the eligibility age is very bad policy. The problem here isn't with the benefits Americans have earned -- it's a cost-of-healthcare problem. Medicare is lower-cost than private insurance, and squeezing the youngest Medicare recipients into private insurance will only make costs worse. We need to control health care costs, not limit access. We can't let the wealthy corporate interests that are spending furiously to push for this succeed.64 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Russ Feingold
