  • Educationing Funding
We have had tremendous cuts as it relates to funding for school districts in Texas. We are asking that the Governor Rick Perry and the Texas Legislature to restore money from the "Rainy Day Fund" to our districts. 4 billion dollars were cut, the fund now has 8.1 billion with the potential of exceeding 16 billion at the end of the current biennium. Our children deserve a quality education.Give them a chance!

  • Oklahoma : Save the lives of people suffering needlessly by immediately establishing a fair medic...
Cannabis is a medicine. In contrast to opiates which can be overdosed upon, create many dead bodies and break apart families due to their addictive qualities, cannabis is an angel of kindness. Everyone deserves relief from disease yet cannabis can completely heal many illnesses even cancer and the studies have been done since the 70s proving this. THC is a medically verified anti-cancer medicine that kills tumors while creating new healthy cells to grow again. All one must do to heal is eat the oils each day, for inhalation is not effective for curing serious ailments.

  • Tell the Gang of 8: Citizenship for the 11 Million Is Our Bottom Line
A bipartisan group of 8 Senators has just stepped up to create the framework for immigration reform next year and they need to hear from us. We have our work cut out for us -- some of these Senators voted against the DREAM Act. But now all 8 are saying they want to tackle the issue. We’re in a new era and our movement has proven that we have the power to win. The only way to ensure that Congress passes the kind of immigration reform proposal we want is to make our demands known every step of the way. Our bottom line for immigration reform is a roadmap for citizenship for all 11 million immigrants without papers living in the United States who are contributing to our country. Use the form on the left: tell the 'Gang of 8' in the Senate that citizenship is our bottom line.

  • Take Back Dishonorable and General Discharges from Don't Ask Don't Tell
Don't Ask Don't Tell resulted in general and dishonorable discharges from the military that led military personnel to lose their employment, veteran status, veteran benefits, medical benefits, and ability to apply for unemployment benefits. Veterans have been subjected to insults, such as needing to repay their college assistance received from the military for their service. Now that we have recognized that our LGBT military personnel deserve our respect and admiration, regardless of sexual orientation, it is time for us to undo the wrongs against these veterans and offer a formal apology.

  • I want my GOP back!
Politics is about compromise. Compromise became a dirty word in Congress. After a record number of filibusters, the GOP just filibustered their own bill. That's unprecedented. In the House, the GOP refuses to make the Bush tax cuts permanant for 98% of Americans & 97% of small businesses. GOP is no longer the champion of tax cuts, or immigration, or national security. GOP also blocked a jobs bill to fix our roads & lower the high unemployment rate. That's unprecedented. GOP also hurt our currency rating & cost our economy $18 billion during an unprecedented & unnecessary debt ceiling debate. Now they're threatening to do it again.

  • Medicare Supplements for Disabled Under 65
I am unable to purchase a Medicare Supplement Plan because I am under age 65, even though I am on Medicare. I want to stay on Original Medicare and have a Supplement Plan that travels with me and so I can go to any doctor/hospital that accepts Original Medicare. My present plan is not only expensive but in network doctor choices are very limited. Having a Supplement Plan would greatly increase my choices of healthcare providers. My state does not currently offer Medicare Supplement Plans to those under age 65, even if you are disabled and on Social Security. This means I must convert from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan. This is through a private company that replaces original Medicare and limits my choices of doctors. In my county I have only a handful of Advantage Plans to choose from and choices of doctors are limited. Out of the four choices available, only one plan is a PPO, the rest are HMOs. I have some medically perplexing conditions and I would like to try a research hospital/clinic. The one I'm interested in accepts the Medicare Supplement plans, not any of the Advantage Plans available to me. I Also plan to stay in another state for 3 months, this poses problems that I wouldn't have if I could get a Supplement plan.
