• Pass the Humanitarian Parental Relief Act – Protect Parents & Families!
Why Is This Important? HPRA is about keeping families together and ensuring that long-term undocumented parents of U.S. citizen children are not unfairly separated from their kids. These parents have built their lives in the U.S., contributed to their communities, and yet remain at risk of deportation—leaving their children behind to face emotional, financial, and social hardships. No child should have to grow up in fear of losing a parent due to outdated immigration laws. Why Should Others Join This Campaign? ✔ It Protects Families & Children • Thousands of U.S. citizen children are at risk of being separated from their parents. • Deportation disrupts children's education, mental health, and future stability. ✔ It’s a Fair & Practical Solution • HPRA is not an amnesty program; it provides a structured legal process with strict eligibility requirements. • It supports parents who have demonstrated their commitment to their families and communities. ✔ It Strengthens Communities & the Economy • Allowing parents to stay legally and work helps families achieve stability and strengthens the economy. • Strong, stable families contribute to safer, more connected communities. ✔ It’s a Human Issue, Not Just a Policy Debate • Behind every statistic is a real family, a real child, a real story. • These are hardworking parents who have built their lives here—they deserve a chance to stay and raise their children without fear. How I'd Explain It to a Friend "Imagine waking up every day wondering if your mom or dad will be taken away from you. Imagine your parents working hard, paying taxes, and contributing to the community, yet they have no way to fix their status. That’s the reality for thousands of families in the U.S. right now." "HPRA is about providing a fair opportunity for these families. It’s not about automatically granting citizenship—it’s about preventing unnecessary family separations and allowing parents who have been here for years to live and work legally while raising their U.S. citizen children." "The more people who join this movement, the stronger our voices become—and the harder it is for lawmakers to ignore us."  Learn more about HPRA here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EsP7ijbHGwFqfhi3fk8PP6TJHdh0Yt2f7N69GLKlS5Y/edit?usp=sharing

  • Support HoCo 1-25 with Original Amendments!
Howard Community College has long been one of the central institutions in Howard County, but recent reorganizations have left the institution and its employees reeling. Senior Leadership at the college has completely changed the structure of the college, cut student services, imposed dramatic changes to classroom education, and has worked to stifle protected union activity on campus. In response, Howard County Senators have proposed a bill to expand the Board of Trustees from seven to nine, institute mandatory trainings for board members, require public comment periods at board meetings, require that all board meetings must be recorded and uploaded to the internet, and require that the board adopt an anonymous, nationally recognized third-party survey for all employees of the college to fill our annually, with an unedited report being given to the board discussing the results. Eleven brave faculty members testified in support of this bill on Wednesday, February 5th, discussing their experiences at the college and how these changes could help rebuild the beloved institution. In response to their testimonials, Senior Leadership attempted to slander and belittle their own faculty that testified in favor of the bill, accusing them of disrupting the academic environment by exercising their rights to testify in favor of a bill. Please sign this petition indicating your support for HoCo 1-25, indicating your support for the brave faculty who testified in favor of the bill, and expressing your frustration with Senior Leadership's poor attempt to attack their own workers.

  • Class Action Lawsuit Against “DOGE” for security breach of Personal Information
Every citizen has the right to protect their private information from unauthorized access and disclosure. “DOGE” should not be exempted from this law and its recent actions of gaining access to the data/information of American citizens through the United States Treasury Department is  non excusable. “DOGE” is NOT a government agency and I did not consent for my information to be disclosed to this self-appointed body.

  • Stop the discontinuing of the Solar for All government program
Discontinuing this law would not only effect all the stakeholders as listed above but would be a major setback for our efforts to reduce climate change and further put our chances of saving our pale blue dot in space in jeopardy.

  • Help WNC Residents Rebuild Bridges and Restore Access After Hurricane Helene!
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, many families in Western North Carolina remain isolated due to the destruction of essential bridges, their only connection to their homes. Temporary footbridges, funded by nonprofits, provided short-term relief but are inadequate for long-term use. Efforts to rebuild permanent structures have been halted due to FEMA's No-Rise Certification requirements. While these certifications are important for preventing future flooding, they require costly engineering studies and lengthy approval processes that many families cannot afford. Among those affected is my own family: my mother has been unable to reach her home except by four-wheeler, and an elderly neighbor battling cancer is stranded with only a footbridge for access. The storm has reshaped rivers and eroded landscapes, making exact reconstruction impossible for many. We urge North Carolina legislators to take immediate action by: 1. Waiving No-Rise Certification costs for families rebuilding essential access bridges. 2. Allocating funding for engineering studies to assist low-income residents. 3. Expediting the permitting process for critical recovery projects. These families need access to their homes, medical care, and resources now. We cannot wait for another disaster to make this right. Join us in calling for practical, compassionate solutions to this urgent issue.

  • Help Muncie's homeless population
We need to save the lives of our "street people". There are too many out here starving, freezing, dying because they have nowhere warm. Our shelters are over run, and it's time to do something. We have other places we could convert into shelters, we have plenty of places that are willing to feed them. It's time to wake up and do your job, Mr. Ridenour. You're our mayor, and your people are dying in the streets.

  • Stockpile mifepristone in Connecticut
In an October 2024 Connecticut Mirror poll, almost half of all voters and three quarters of Democrats listed reproductive rights and abortion as key issues. With the election of Donald Trump, the rights we now have in Connecticut are threatened by Project 2025’s plan to implement a national ban on medication abortion by pushing the FDA to reverse approval of mifepristone and misoprostol (the drugs most commonly used for medication abortions). On day one of his administration, Trump’s attorney general could also reinterpret the Comstock Act to criminalize the act of sending mifepristone through the mail. This would prevent healthcare providers from obtaining the drug, even though abortion is legal in Connecticut. It is vitally important that all of us who care about reproductive rights let our governor and elected representatives know that we want them to take action immediately to protect these rights. State Democratic leaders Martin Looney and Bob Duff have already written to Governor Lamont to note their appreciation of efforts by his administration, the Department of Public Health, UConn, and legislators who have been developing a plan to stockpile doses of mifepristone. They noted that Massachusetts, Washington, California, and New York have already taken this action. However, although it appears that there is significant support for Connecticut taking similar steps, there has been no stockpiling yet. [Courtesy of Elizabeth Vozzola, PhD. • Rename Oakland International Airport to Oakland International Kamala Harris Airport
Signing the petition to rename Oakland International Airport after Vice President Kamala Harris is an opportunity to honor a trailblazing leader who embodies Oakland’s resilience, diversity, and progressive values. This change would not only celebrate her historic achievements but also elevate Oakland’s global recognition, reinforcing its unique identity and pride. A previous attempt to rename the airport as “San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport” was temporarily blocked by the federal court, as it sought to use the brand of another city rather than celebrating Oakland’s deep roots and culture, which allow it to stand proudly on its own two feet. Naming the airport after Vice President Harris reflects the city’s strength, independence, and rich history while inspiring future generations.
