Good mothers should not lose their children/Children should not lose their good mothersThis petition is about the good mothers who are losing full custody of their children in Massachusetts courts due to their lacking funds to continue custody battles. Many more affluent fathers win custody of their children because the way the courts in Massachusetts are operating. The longer you last in the custody battle at the courts, the more likely you will get custody of your child. Also, many abusive fathers tend to fight for custody of their children to punish mothers who had enough of the abuse. According to current statistics, if the father has the economic means and the mother doesn't, the probability for the father gaining custody is 70% greater than that of the mother.105 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Deborah L Gonzalez

Demand Banks Stop Unfairly foreclosing Foreclosing on WidowsThe major banks have a policy toward widows who are behind on their payments, sometimes through no fault of their own, that is worthy of Joseph Heller's Catch-22: widows can't get the mortgage in their names until the payments are up to date, but they can't get their payments up to date until their mortgage is in their name. Millions of women who are trying to catch up on payments after dealing with the deaths of their husbands are now trapped; they can't get current and the banks won't work with them to get them current. And then the banks foreclose on them. The New York Times reported on the plight of Geraldine Bates, who lost her husband last year just after her husband entered into a loan modification agreement with HSBC. Geraldine notified the bank of her husband's death and sent in the first check. The bank returned her payment because she wasn't on the mortgage and now is threatening her with foreclosure, even while she continues to try to pay. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/02/business/widows-pushed-into-foreclosure-by-mortgage-fine-print.html?_r=0 No one should lose their house like this. Banks need to change their policies and stop trying to kick widows out of their houses for these outrageous reasons. Please sign this petition to demand that the Presidents of US Bank, HSBC, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America end this horrible practice and work with widows trying to make payments and keep those widows in their homes. We'll deliver your signature to the offices of these banks, and we'll send a copy of these to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.23 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nathan Henderson-James

Medicaid and our responsibility to the poor.Just go away and die! That’s the Real message the “Conservatives” are giving the less fortunate in our society when they demand that the state turn down Medicaid funds for the poor. Never mind that Washington is paying nearly all the expanded costs for the next ten years. No, anything proposed to help the poor, disabled, or those suffering from catastrophic health problems is taboo in their eyes. Been through it personally...2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by K Donaldson
