    My petition is about dental benefits. I am disabled and I have medicaid and medicare, and I cannot afford dental insurance. Dental insurance should be included in medicaid: extracting teeth, relieving pain, dentures, partials, fillings for front teeth.

The issue drew the attention of President Obama at former President Bill Clinton's Clinton Global Initiative on Tuesday (Sept. 25), where Obama said the estimated 20 million victims of human trafficking would become a major focus of his Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. "Like that Good Samaritan on the road to Jericho, we can't just pass by, indifferent," Obama said. "We've got to be moved by compassion. We've got to bind up the wounds."

    As a legally married gay male in NY State while I can file a joint State tax return, I cannot carry that over to my Federal tax return. In addition I must claim his portion of medical insurance covered under my employer as income. Furthermore, if he dies I am not entitled to his SSDI as he is presently battling lung camcer and upon his death I will have to pay estate taxes on his half of our house. EQUALITY FOR ALL or NO TAXES AT ALL!

  • Joint Committee on Taxation: Raise Interest Tax Deduction on Education Loans (1098-E)
    Please, join me in asking lawmakers to increase the amount of income tax deductions (1098-E) on student loans. Currently, the maximum amount is $2500. As a federal education loan recipient, I would like to see the deduction doubled to $5000. It provides debtors an incentive to pay off their loans as quickly as possible. I strongly believe this will benefit responsible individuals who wish to get the student loan burden off their backs.

  • We must put an end to a law Jeb Bush signed into law in 1997 that's robbing this country blind.
    To stop a law Jeb Bush passed that allowed casino to go 3 miles off the Fl shoreline, Ga shoreline, and SC shoreline which followed Jeb Bush lead. Yes I was effected by this law when the company I worked for Suncruz Casino closed down with no warning and reopened under new names. I was making close to $45,000 a yr and until someone brought to the attention of the IRS I made $close to $9,000 in 2005.
