• Rescind Oregon SB 1080
SB 1080 prevents some 15,000 undocumented immigrant drivers on Oregon roads from being tested for knowledge of driving laws and for physical impairments to safe driving. Denied driver licenses, undocumented immigrants cannot purchase auto insurance, raising the risk of accidents and, therefore, the rates of auto insurance for licensed drivers.

  • Immigration Reform
Stop separating the families, I am facing deportation for something that I already paid for. I served 18 months of incarceration. I am a single parent of two daughters and grandfather of a 2 year old boy, and I am the only support and provider for them. My older daughter is in college and she is a single mother, my youngest is still in high school. During my incarceration I started taking classes in college; when I finished my time I continued my studies and in 2006 I graduated as an architect and have worked since then as an architect and as a good citizen. But also I have done everything that is possible to stop my deportation and the separation of my family and the separation of any other family.

  • Stop Grant Co DHS From Abusing the Poor
Grant Co DHS took my two children based on false, unverified allegations, and admitted they did not perform an investigation, competent or otherwise. While my children were in their custody, I was coerced into actions against my will by threats from the case worker that I would never get my children back if I didn't. My son was assaulted and exposed to acts that would have brought criminal charges against me if it ocurred in my home. My disabled daughter continues to have nightmares of when she almost drowned. I have learned of two other families with similiar, recent abuses by this department

  • De-Criminalize Hemp and Marijuana
Hemp should be a cash crop for paper, cloth, livestock feed and bio-deisel, among other products. Regulation of marijuana should be decided at the State level. Decriminalizing both crops will spur economic growth, reduce crowding in jails, and save taxpayers billions in incarceration costs - a win-win-win situation nationwide. It's time to end the dissonance between federal and state laws.

  • FOOD LABELING, NO DECEPTION
Food Labeling - Healthcare Crisis We demand honest, all-inclusive labeling of all food products and their ingredients. It is a basic consumer right to know what we are buying without deceptive wording or packaging. Natural doesn't mean organic. We have a right to know if genetically engineered or modified ingredients are in anything we purchase.

  • Save our Native Prairie Grasslands
The Fish and Wildlife Service has opened a 90 day period for open comment from the public and the scientific community. Four public hearing will be held in February and this petition will be presented at that time..The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering putting the Lesser Prairie Chicken on the "threatened" list under the Endangered Species Act. The decline in this species signals that our native grasslands are in trouble. These grasslands support dozens of migratory birds, farmers, ranchers and local communities across the southwest region. We will be working alongside the Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Land Management, and the Sutton Center to preserve our environment. For the people of these states, putting the lesser prairie chicken on the threatened list opens up the possibility of putting it being a stone in the road to impede the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline Upon learning of this consideration, lawmakers in major oil and gas districts yelled "Fowl." We cannot let these industries risk our environment. The Fish and Wildlife Service has opened a 90 day period for open comment from the public and the scientific community. Four public hearing will be held on: 1. • Comcast: Allow subscribers to block Fox
I am a Comcast Television subscriber. I can only subscribe to Comcast's TV service by accepting a package of TV channels. When I subscribe to the package, I am supporting the channels in the package financially regardless of how offensive those channels are to me, and regardless of whether I watch those channels. Additionally, those channels are able to claim a wider viewer audience than they actually have (to sell advertising, for example).

  • Pension Plans First
I have met people who have lost their pensions due to bankruptcy. They no longer have that pension to count on when they retire. When a company goes into bankruptcy, the company should have to pay their pension obligations off first. Workers should not suffer during a bankruptcy when executives get big bonus' and full pay.
