Close Guantanamo Detention CenterThere are still 166 men held at Guantánamo. President Obama signed an executive order on his second day on office in 2009 to close the site. It's time now.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William Potter

Filiibuster ReformAll good things die in the senate as obstructionist Republicans hold democracy hostage with the filibuster as we now know it. It is time to reform the filibuster and let the senate do it's job without super majorities for everything6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Larry Goodermont

Economic FairnessI was incensed during our last election to learn that the Republican candidate Mitt Romney had slid through on technicalities in the tax code which allowed him to either pay 14% for the last two years or so, or nothing for many years before that. This " Golden Age" style tax dodging must be eliminated!2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nan Jorgensen

Chemically laced fracking water, What is in it?Ohio now has 179 active injection wells for the disposal of fracking waste liquid. There is no manditory disclosure as to the chemicals being used by the different companies dumping 14 million barrels in Ohio this year. 56% of the fracking waste liquid is coming from multiple companies from out of state. Who will be responsible for cleaning up this mess when the well water is contaminated and how many people will have to die before there will be full disclosure of toxic chemicals being used.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mary Keefe

Campaign Financial ReformEstimates for 2012 presidential campaign spending is approximately $2.2 billion dollars and $6 billion for all campaign spending. With US and international hunger problems, challenges for funding for education, infrastructure problems, national debt and increasing poverty to name a few issues, it is reasonable to limit spending for any election.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Deeann Gerken

Make the corporate-drafted Trans Pacific Partnership text PUBLIC!An international corporate coup is happening right now, in secret: The Trans Pacific Partnership is being written by multi-national corporations that will give them the power to directly sue the United States whenever they feel our domestic laws are "barriers to potential profits." The judges in the lawsuits would be appointed by the corporations themselves, and the proceedings would be kept secret! This means that when we have passed environmental laws or human rights protections in the USA, these would now be against international law as drafted in the Trans Pacific Partnership. It's all pro-corporate/anti-human, it's all designed to be kept secret, and our federal representatives cannot even get their hands on this text. Insane? Yes. Conspiracy? No. Here's a good primer on what's going down: http://truth-out.org/news/item/12934-why-so-secretive?-the-trans-pacific-partnership-as-global-coup Please LOUDLY sign this petition, and tell your friends. Or, be silent, and play along with the worst Free Trade Agreement of all time.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steve Kriesel

Make a Sound Decision on Fluoride TreatmentPinellas County dental services for low income families are inadequate, often requiring residents to need "Relief of Pain" before receiving help. Commissioners are willing to spend less than $200,000 to provide fluoride treatment of drinking water. New research from the Harvard School of Public Health "found strong indications that fluoride may adversely affect cognitive development in children". Is there a better and more cost effective way to reach those without access to dental care?91 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tom Tito

A Pardon for a Man Convicted For VotingI am the first person in New York to be convicted for "illegal voting" since 1872. The defendant in that case was Susan B. Anthony. I have an application for a pardon before Governor Cuomo. I have the support of the editorial boards of the New York Daily News, The Albany Times Union, The Irish Echo and The Amsterdam News. A petition asking Governor Cuomo to grant a pardon would correct a horrible precedent that now subjects dorm students and homeless people to prosecution if they vote from a place that is not their "principal and permanent residence". www.freejohnohara.com8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John O'Hara
