Reciprocity for civil engineering license between TX & CAThere are some jobs out there that require CA license and I can not apply because my registration is in TX. If WA, AZ, and NV already have this trade with CA, why not TX.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Camilo Diaz

WPA: WHY NOT NOW!It's time to stop the silliness and create jobs for people. There is much work to be done and many ready hands to do it. If the private sector can join in, great, if not, the government needs to do it. If not now, when?6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Val Leventhal

Election / Voter ReformThe disenfranchisement of voters in this country and obsolete voting machines and methods are a disgrace to our country. We have the ability to provide safe, honest electronic voting in our 50 states.68 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Phyllis Barell

Nan's LawNan's Law is the name given to our efforts to pass a law to force hotels/motels to do background checks on future employees who have access to guest rooms. It is named for our daughter, Nan Toder who was brutally murdered by the maintenance man in a suburban Chicago motel in December 1996. She had her bags packed and stored behind her room door as she was very cautious. She thought the connecting room door was locked, too. However, the murderer (who had a criminal record) had 'fixed' it so it would not lock. He used his pass key to enter the adjoning room door, strangled her & slashed her with a machete. We'd like a petition to the Pennsylvania legislature to require background checks. We hope other states will also consider passing such an obviously needed law.See www.nanslaw.org for more information. Thank you, Lin & Sol Toder12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sol W. Toder

End Mold Deaths NOW1,000s of Phoenix families are in debt due to medical costs for treatment of health disorders caused by mold contamination of their rental units. Many of the Landlords which rent these living spaces know of hazardous conditions in their properties but continue to rent them to tenants as the sick families, financially devasted from the medical costs of treating their mold disorders, move out and the new families move in. Breaking this cycle of disease, bankruptcy and death is crucial to stabilizing and growing our economic success. We need to toughen the regulations which require Landlords to maintain their rental units in a livable condition and help tenants who sue to recoup their mold contamination related medical costs, or unfortunately, funeral costs.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James Bailey

Mandate Minority Participation on State and Federal ContractsAs a registered Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) for state and federal contracts, Prime Contractors are able to seek "waivers for minority participation" and subcontracting opportunities. Prime Contractors are submitting waivers without the knowledge of certified MBE and DBE businesses. Although there are contracts that seek MBE and DBE participation, these waivers are being abused by Prime Contractors. State and Federal governments should "require" MBE and DBE participation and not allow waivers. This would allow MBE and DBE business to succeed in the market place, increase employment opportunities, increase revenue, and become leaders in their communities.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dr. Tony Tyler

Self Evident TruthGov. Walker's is attempting to suppress voting by ending election day registration. If he and his Republican legislature pass such a law numerous people who typically do not vote Republican will have their constitutional right to vote unnecessarily restricted.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jerry Hanson

CONGRESS-Work for the whole countryThe GOP has spent the last 4 years trying to "insure this was a one term President". In the process they have damaged the country by trying to end the Safety Net, and the people and the economy have been hurt. The Dems won the election.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ms K Riley
