Congress getting it doneI think that the Congress should start with themselves if they want the AMerican people to swallow the bitter medicine that is needed to cure the economy. The changes that are necessary to avoid falling off the fiscal cliff will be hard to accept, but if the legislators start by giving up some of their perks, the American people will fell better about accepting the necessary changes and realize that our Congress may truly interested in the good of the country, not just their own good. They need to ask"Is this for the good of the majority of the people?" And if so, vote for it. I am tired of all the game playing and self love from this body who is supposed to be governing for us.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Fredi O'Hara

Tax the Top 0.7%Economists across the country agree that to avoid the fiscal cliff and balance our budget, we must decrease spending AND increase revenue. Congressional research reports have clearly shown that lowering taxes on the wealthy does NOT boost the economy or grow jobs, it only increases the income gap between the rich and the everyone else. Democrats and the President have listened to this expert advice, and propose raising taxes on those who can afford it: Americans making $250,000 or more. For almost 20 years, Republicans have fervently opposed raising taxes on anyone, regardless of the financial state of the nation. In 2011, only 0.7% of Americans made $250,000 or more, and paid less than 25% of their income in taxes. To oppose generating revenue by raising taxes on this tiny fraction of the citizenry that can afford it is to hold the country's financial future hostage for the benefit of a select elite. By signing this petition, you will tell your two Senators and House Representative that you support raising taxes on the privileged 0.7% to help balance our budget and avert the fiscal cliff, which is certain to devastate the entire U.S. economy.71 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ben Sugerman

Reform Campaign ContributionsLarge contributions to political campaigns and candidates are essentially totally unproductive wastes of money. This could be changed if large contributions were required to be matched by equal contributions to the Federal government, specifically to reduce the national debt.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by R. Voter's Rights InvestigationEven before the 2012 General Election, accusations of voter fraud and suppression were being made in states across the nation. Voter identification laws, restrictions on voting hours and locations, partisan attempts to mis-lead voters, and problems with electronic voting machines must be investigated so that the cornerstone of our democracy - free and fair elections for all, can continue unencombered by any attempt to change, alter or negate the will of the people.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Naseem

Reform the U.S. Federal election systemPresidential elections should be decided by the popular vote, not by the Electoral College system which is now outdated. The present system makes it possible for a candidate to win the election with less than 50% of the popular vote. Modern technology can ensure that the president is elected by the majority of voters.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by J Fisher
