A Spanish-language billboard containing an intimidating, fear-mongering message about workers comp fraud is targeting Latinos. This billboard was put up by the San Diego County District Attorney in the very heart of North Park (and other neighborhoods in San Diego). Yes I have bad nerves and I rather have Marijuana than some drugs that a doctor prescribe . Those medication has all types of side effects. The only side.effect Marijuana has is it make you hungry. When you eat food takes away your high, unlike alcohol ,depending how much you drink, it takes hours and hours to sober a you up.

It's come to my attention that there is a petition going around to block possible legislature of concealed carry reform in Illinois. I am against said petition and support the passing of concealed carry in Illinois. Here's why: The people committing gun related crimes aren't upstanding citizens with clean records. They are criminals that obtain these guns in illegal manners. Not having concealed carry laws in big cities like Chicago leaves only the upstanding members of the community without protection. I've known too many people that have been victims to be for and support our current gun laws. Years ago a young female associate with absolutely no ties to any gangs was gunned down by a mugger while walking to the red line at night. A couple years after that one of my friends was shot several times because, from a distance, he resembled someone that belonged to the shooters' rival gang. Years after that my cousin was shot several times and almost died, all because some kids acting tough decided to beat up on our other cousin at a party. He saw it and went over to help when they opened fire on him. None of these victims were gang members and all had clean records, while the perpetrators all had records and obtained their guns illegally. Citizens who undergo license training and testing and pass background checks should be able to obtain concealed carry permits to protect themselves in Illinois. It is my belief that if this law were to pass, non-gang related violence would drop considerably in Illinois; especially in Chicago. Chicago police also support concealed carry. Breastfeeding is legal in the US, however woman are still being demanded to stop and told that it is indecent exposure. While I was nursing my daughter I was asked to leave a restaurant because a patron felt uncomfortable with watching me nurse.

At long last, after 23 yrs I have now repaid, to Sallie Mae, the total amount of my student loans I originally borrowed and more. The remaining loan balance I am now paying is the capitalized interest that was added to my balance because of my many long years of financial hardship due to the low salary levels of my profession in higher education (librarian). My loans dont qualify for ANY forgiveness programs - nothing related to teaching in public institutions, or , any forgiveness programs put in place by President Obama because in part they are very old loans, combination of private and federal loans consolidated, and librarians in higher education do not meet criteria for those forgiveness programs targeted to education, and whatever reason...I just think this is wrong - I have repaid every penny of my original loan balance and more at this point. I think that this remaining balance that is created by capitalized interest because of financial hardship/forbearance should be forgiven. I feel like I am paying for the forgiveness programs the President put in place over the past year or so - I have repaid my loans to Sallie Mae. It is not right that there are people like me still struggling to repay our loans after decades and we cant get any assistance - how many others are in my position? What do you think? Sonja
