• Peace Agreement in Israel and Palestinian Territories
    The recent heartbreaking Israel/Gaza conflict reminds us of the urgent necessity to use our influence as Americans to support the rights of all civilians to live in peace. Too often we take the side as activists of one or the other, instead of taking the side of a peace that respects both. NGOs such as Combatants for Peace, Bereaved Families Forum, and Jerusalem Peacemakers need us to push our government to support coexistence.

  • Mandatory Publicizing Of Corporate Political Donations
    I am a customer of a wireless phone company that I found out donates large amounts of money to candidates whom I oppose, so I am changing carriers. Nevertheless I do not appreciate them using my business with them in this manner. I believe that corporations making contributions under the umbrealla of Citizens United should have to be very transparent about it - that they should have mandatory requirements to publicize it.

    Congress has made cuts everywhere but their own salary and expense accounts. We need more teachers, firefighters, and help with student loans. Congress should bite the bullet and struggle too if they expect the rest of America to make ends meet on the drastic cuts they want to propose.

  • Pres. Obama: Start Granting Clemency and Commutations
    President Obama has repeatedly failed to use the clemency and commutations process that is within his power. He has granted clemency more rarely than any modern president. Under Obama an applicants chance of getting his or her sentence commuted is about 1 in 5000. This is the worst record of any modern president. Our judicial system over the past 30 years has become unbalanced to the extreme. Obama's callous disregard of the process of pardons and commutations is a shame.     I don't like my family not having a choice of what we eat simply because manufacturers DO NOT LABLE GMO products. GMOs have not been tested properly...ever...and you DO NOT KNOW WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE EATING THEM. I assure you...you are... Labeling should be mandatory. Americans have the right to know what's in our food?   • True Citizens' Initiative
    It seems like many of the initiatives on our ballot have been the result of paid signature gatherers, This goes against the legitimate purpose of initiatives, which were designed to give private citizens, not corporations or the wealthy, a voice in the lawmaking process. I propose that paid signature gathering be made illegal and that initiatives that reflect the opinions of a sufficient number of citizens be the only ones that qualify for the ballot.
