I am a student in florida studying the plant called cannibis. my first views on marijuana were normal, i thought it was a dangerous drug that would kill brain cells and give you cancer like cigarettes. Then i actually started doing research on what others have found out about the effects of marijuana and they were surprisingly different than what i thought. obviously by now we know that colorado and a few other states have legalized marijuana for recreational use and i think we should do the same. Marijuana is a safe and beautiful plant that has many medical uses and if there is truth to what science has proved why should we even for a second be in denial of something that can cure pain or even major deseases. please sign this petition for the people who want to be healthy, safe and have something that can relax them on a hard day at work. I think the reason this plant was illegal in the first place was because they took it out on the people who were abusing marijuana, those people should be punished. But for the people who want to sit at home and smoke a fat one and do no harm, should be allowed to. What are they doing wrong?

My sister Virginia has been deaf since childhood and now as an adult she is in another state away from her children and friends and up until now has had the ability to communicate with them with the Relay Services for the deaf. Now the FCC wants to charge for usage of this service. This is outrageous. Americans with Disabilities Acr requires that people who are deaf have access to same quality of telecommunication services as people who are able to hear.

Congress needs to see what it feels like to be in the shoes of the average American Citizen. They have misused and abused their power far to long. We as Americans need to take a stand against those that have repeatedly used and abused this power, and endanger our way of life.

Examples of voter supression during the past four presidential elections have become almost commonplace, whether the recent case of Pennsylvania election officials enacting new voter ID laws or the case in Ohio where election officials summarily reduced early voting days just prior to the election. Whether it is being done by Republicans or Democrats, it should be prosectuted as a federal crime.

During the campaign the President relentlessly spoke about the fairness of the upper middle class paying more taxes. Many people in this group that I know are dedicated individulas who work long hours almost 7 days a week for more than 30 years! So, I am asking the President to show fairness to these citizens and the needy among us by being prudent in spending peoples hard earned money,

The filibuster rules in the U.S. Senate stand in the way of everything we, as MoveOn members, want for the country. Let's pressure the Senate Democrats to revise the filibuster rules on January 3, 2013 (by simple majority) to ensure that EVERY legislation or court/cabinet appointment going forward ULTIMATELY gets an up-or-down vote. This change will restore SOME semblance of democracy in an institution that has only 10% public approval. Republicans should support this reform as well. If elections are won fairly by one party or the other, the agenda supported by that majority party (either Democrat or Republican) should be voted on and, if approved and implemented, the results of that legislation can then be fairly judged by US voters in future elections.
