No Change to Soccial Security and Medicare AgeMost Americans retire by age 62 and with early Soc Sec beneifts. Why because they cant work longer due to physical and also mental changes that have a great deal of effect on employement in a rapidly changing High tech world. And Medciare helathcare cost are lower than for proft private helathcare, so rasing Medicare age increases helathcare costs overall. I have advanced degrees in Chemistry, and also I'm a retired CPA. Yet by age 60 I was hit with neuro surgeries, worn out knees from sports and years of working 70 hour weeks w/o vacation in my own companies. When we had to close down our business after an illness, unemployement for those over 60 was 60%. Living longer on pills, pace makers and etc., does not mean people can work longer and there are simply not enough Wal-Mart greeter jobs! Getting rehired even after age 50 is difficult. Deficit reduction should be about things that add to the deficits, which neither Soc Sec nor Medicare do. They are funded by their own P/R taxes and by law cant add to the deficits Changes should be made at the P/R tax area as Reagan did..1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Hill

Tell Harry Reid not to block Elizabeth Warren from the Senate Banking CommitteeWall Street campaigned to put its candidate in office and lost. Now it still wants to prove it runs Washington by blocking Elizabeth Warren from the Senate Banking Committee. This is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's decision, and we should let him know that we want Warren on the committee.519 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Claiborne Deming Jr

Stop the outrageous life-time full pay pensions to former Congress membersEvery member of Congress, upon defeat or retirement, even after only one term, is presently entitled to a pension of full pay for life. They should receive the same as anyone on Social Security. The same rules should apply to them as apply to everyone else1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ron Kramer

Let's get debt under controlThe rich paying more through HIGHER TAX RATES, not through other tax concessions only, MUST be the first requirement for developing a balanced approach to the debt crisis. President Obama SHOULD NOT compromise raising the tax rates of the rich; IT WOULD BE VERY DEMEANING TO THE PRESIDENT'S CHARACTER FOR HIM TO GO BACK ON HIS WORD TO DO SO.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cynthia Owens K. Rein in Rails - to - Trails! In the past decade the Rails - to - Trails conservancy has taken a dangerous leap from advocating trail conversion on already abandoned rail coridors to advocating the abandonment of intact, functioning rail corridors for the purpose of trail use under the guise of "railbanking". This is of major concern to anyone with a stake in the green movement - and anyone who cares about the economic future of our nation. Rail is the most efficient means of transportation we've got, and we need to save every mile of railroad we have in America!61 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nathaniel Longale

Governor Scott, it is time for Florida to expand Medicaid coverage and create a healthcare exchange. As a small business owner that provides services to people with disabilities who receive Medicaid benefits and as a father and husband who purchases private health insurance for my family, I see firsthand the potential benefits to Floridians if the governor and state legislature enact both the Medicaid expansion and healthcare exchange tenants of the Affordable Care Act. Expanding Medicaid will allow current recipients to work more hours without the worry of loosing the healthcare coverage that they rely on. It will also cover more Floridians who are working but cannot afford to purchase private insurance. Creating a statewide exchange could maximize competition and choice for Florida consumers which could result in lower premiums and more affordable coverage for Floridians like myself who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but still find it difficult to afford private health insurance.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Christopher Hyche
