Congress has given themselves a pay raise and shortened their work year... They need to do their job and BALANCE the BUDGET. They need to do it in a way that does not hurt the middle class. Large corporations and people who make over $250,000 need to pay their fair share.

Every elected representative in the house and senate are paid their salary for the remainder of their lives - plus benefits. This began in order to compensate farmers or small businessmen for leaving their livelihood to serve the people. Now it has become an industry, and by cutting these golden parachutes, the money could be used in better ways.

The CEO of Hostess tripled his own pay, faced bankruptcy rather than agree for the employees (their average salary being $43,000) to have well deserved benefits. Then he, with the help of the media, blamed the failed company on the the employees and the union. I'm calling for the ex Hostess employees and their union to start their own bakery and share equally in the profits.

Citizens in every State have commenced petitions for their individual State to secede from the Union. It is appropriate to mount the same effort to voice our desire to remain in the union, as we have been since both April 9, 1865 and July 4, 1776.

SunRail: Scott froze this contract as part of his review of hundreds of contracts exceeding $1 million since his inauguration. Pink Slip Rick cites a one-page summary report from the City of Orlando, which says creation of the Orlando commuter train will bring 113,065 construction jobs for transit-oriented development. We traced that figure to an executive summary of the SunRail project by the Florida Department of Transportation. The report elaborates on that estimate of construction jobs, which would be created within a half-mile of the commuter train line over 20 years. Development doesn't happen overnight. Also he increased time limit for convicted felons to get civil rights restore - after completing their sentence, paid for their mistakes, you still have to wait another 4 years to get civil rights restored and vote like any other american citizen - only in the state of Florida, thanks to Rick Scott.

Tax fairness. Why do people who do not need to work but live very well on the money from their investments pay a tax rate of 15% while the working person pays 20% or 28% or more? Why is money taxed at a lower rate than labor? This was not the way the tax law used to be written. Closing this tax loophole would help reduce the deficit.

My nephew alone with other young black men have had their lives stop for long periords of time for the amount of time the court is giving young men for any type of drug they have, not use, have. The three strike law should go away. Prison has become a big business to take young men away from family, friends and life.

We need an economy that works for our world and will sustain ourselves and future generations for centuries to come. We cannot depend on huge global corporations to work in the best interest of our planet when the goal is to make more and more money. We need to find a new way, where people earn fair wages doing work that helps themselves, their families, their communities and moves us forward to making the world a better place for all.
