Stop the hostage standoff!Being held HOSTAGE to a 1% majority. The house of Representatives has held us HOSTAGE for the benefit of the rich. And because of this all America has lost out. We have until December 31, to rally behind our President. We see the benefits of his proposals. And we need to mobilize all Americans regardless of party affiliation. We have the benefit of numbers And we must not tolerate this mindset anymore.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lewis R. Jenkins

Church TaxationI think it's time we ask the President to push Congress for change on allowing Church involvement in politics without their being taxed. The people who sign this petition do so knowing it's not about the church or being religious but about the National separation of Church and state as it is in the Constitution and mentioned in the Bill of Rights, Upheld by the Federal Supreme Court Numerous times.84 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Larry Fulmer Jr

Republicans come to the table in good faithExtend middle-class tax cuts; raise taxes on the 5%; re-write the tax code to close tax loopholes and unjustified exemptions and credits that prevent the US Treasury from collecting more tax revenue from the richest Americans and from corporations.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Samuel Swaim

To forever bear ArmsThe Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights. We have no protection if you take this amendment away from us. Hunting, protection, our freedom!20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jacob G.

Demand A Competent National Science PolicyOur space program has foundered for too long. Do you know that we spend more every year on air conditioning for the military than we do on NASA's entire budget. Tell congress that creating the technologies and jobs of tomorrow is important even in times of economic downturn.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Julian Klappenbach

Campus Mental HealthI have had issues with depression when I first started college and began involving friends and staff but felt that, although they had the best intentions, tried to help in ways that made matters worse for the both of us. A group of us would like to see a policy implemented that requires colleges and universities to include, in their curriculum, education on mental health awareness as a prevention tool for students and staff. There are counselors available and that is wonderful but peers and staff can help even more by knowing what to do and what not to do when faced with a friend, peer, or student that is showing signs of mental illness especially depression. Saying or doing the wrong thing can make matters much worse.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tim Collins

Black Friday Boycott of Macy's for supporting Donald Trump.Actions speak louder than words. Angelo Carusone's petition for Macy's to "dump Donald Trump" had more than 620,000 signatures by Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 02:02:02 PM EST and will be delivered to Macy's CEO Lundgren when it hits 625,000. However, Macy's continues to support Donald Trump. Macy's insists that Trump's political leanings are not a reflection of the company's. I and apparently over 600K people would disagree. For a moment let's consider why would they hire a "celebrity" for endorsements or special product line. Simple, celebrities sell stuff and consumers will pay attention to celebrities because they are attracted to them and they like and identify with what they say. With this simple truth, Macy's is in fact "hiring" Trumps "celebrity" status, including his political beliefs, sexist behavior, hypocrisy, bigotry and over all despicableness. I would further support this by stating why do companies sometimes drop it's celebrity spokespeople? For example: Gatorade drop it's "Tiger Focus" brand, rapidly followed by other sponsors like AT&T and Accenture over a private sex scandal? Why did Nike drop Armstrong as spokesman? State Farm Drops Penn State? Yes the list goes on and on and on. I'm not saying Mr. Trump has a right to his opinion (however obnoxious I think he is), he sure does, so do I, actually, so do we all. That's what's great about America, our 1st Amendment ensuring Freedom of Speech is wonderful, powerful and a great responsibility. What has to be acknowledge is the repercussions for his opinions. Clearly Trump fails to understand this as does the Macy's CEO. So I propose this: What if Macy's was a store and in order to send a message to Macy's in a language (like MONEY & PROFIT) that they can truly understand regarding Mr. Trump's spokesman-ship, suddenly no one shopped there? Yes, MONEY talks and actions truly do speak louder than words. Black Friday is coming please send them a message by 1) signing this petition vowing you will NOT SHOP there 2) By NOT SHOPPING at Macy's on Black Friday weekend!36 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alfred Robertson

Get New Yorkers the Medical Care They Need! The storm is over but the healthcare crisis in New York is still unfolding – and likely to get worse. The response from city, state, and federal officials has been too little and too late. Urgent action and greater coordination are needed to help thousands of people in desperate need. Several of New York City’s critical care hospitals – Coney Island Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, and NYU Langone – are projected to be closed for months to come, making for a health hazard of epic proportions. There’s currently no Level 1 Trauma Center from 57th Street to the tip of Manhattan! Thousands of New Yorkers – in Staten Island, the Rockaways, Coney Island, and beyond – are still stuck in their homes with no heat, no electricity, and urgent, and unattended, medical needs. Many of these people will get worse the longer they go unattended. Children and seniors are especially in need of attention. Access to medication and medical devices is severely limited. We need to hold Mayor Bloomberg accountable for getting healthcare to New Yorkers who need it. Please sign this petition to demand that Mayor Bloomberg take immediate action to care for New Yorkers who have severely limited access to healthcare. Don’t let a natural disaster be followed by a public health disaster.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Caitlin Boston

President Obama: Reopen the CCC and Revitalize the LandParts of my once beautiful homeland in the Appalachian Mountains now look like war zones, with craters and plateaus where 525 mountains once stood. Revitalizing the regions of the country that have been adversely affected by industrial utilization is crucially important to our future and needs to be a top priority.118 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Hazel Landers
