Honorable Mr. President and Members of Congress, Social Security and Medicare were created in order to prevent old age poverty of the neediest of Americans. Any privatization or cuts in these "entitlements", for which those Americans worked and paid for throughout a lifetime, are totally unfair and unnecessary, just as it is unfair to raise the retirement age and expect people to work into their late 60's when no one wants to hire or retain them. This is supposedly the richest country in the world, yet when it comes to its own citizens, it prefers to preach self reliance. Mr. President, I urge you to let the Bush tax cuts expire and not sell Social Security, Medicare as well as Medicaid down the River in a deal with self-serving hypocritical Republicans like Paul Ryan. Foreigners cannot give financial contributions to political campaigns in the U.S.A., but they are affected by decisions taken in Washington by the President and Congress. Actually, all the World is affected by political decisions taken in Washington, but is not a part of the decision making. It is a matter of promoting democracy, not only in the World but also in Washington, to allow foreigners to be listened to by american politicians, because of their capacity to give individual contributions to their political campaigns.

UPS was faced with a petition of a mere 80,000 votes requesting that they drop all financial support of the Boy Scouts of America because they disagree with BSA's policy on homosexual leadership. In November, 2012, UPS announced that they no longer support the BSA because of this petition. Let's show UPS that there are many more of their customers who are disappointed by this decision and request that they review and reverse it.

Is PECO Wind a sham? It sure seems like it. While the PECO wind website talks about giving customers “an opportunity to support renewable wind energy,” their lobbyists in Congress are pushing to kill legislation that will promote wind energy in Pennsylvania and nationwide. [1] [2] And sadly, PECO isn't alone in trying to submarine America’s wind energy programs — other powerful energy companies like PPL, First Energy and GenOn have all joined them in trying to kill wind energy and continue our reliance on dirty energy. The program is the Wind Power Tax Credit, and it is critical to expand America’s wind power industry. Unfortunately due to the political gridlock in Washington D.C., this program is set to expire in just over a month. It’s that simple. If you’re like many, you support wind power because you don’t want to rely on dirty coal-fired power plants and their air pollution. Or, you’re worried about global warming fueling future super storms like Sandy. Or maybe, you just believe that wind power is the future and want to be part of building a clean energy economy. Unfortunately, dirty energy companies are trying to exploit America’s support for wind power — while trying to get rid of wind power at the same time. Tell your Senators and member of Congress to stand up to the dirty energy companies like PECO and renew the wind energy tax credit.
