• Stop behaving as if the planet were infinite
The planet is finite. This means it has a finite capacity to give us resources sustainably, and a finite capacity to absorb our effluents (like climate-change-inducing carbon dioxide). And yet economic policy, including monetary policy, continue to assume that the planet is capable of supporting infinite growth in both.

  • No off stage help
It has been photographically documented that George Bush wore a concelled earphone during the 2004 debates where off stage handlers provided answers to questions posed. Please sign this petition to let the GOP know that this trick will not be allowed during the upcoming Presidential debates.

  • Blackfeet Tribal Business Council: Petition To Implement A Zero Tolerance Violence-Free Work Policy
We are asking the Blackfeet Tribal Business Council to commit to creating and maintaining a zero tolerance and violence-free workplace policy where threats, threatening behavior, intimidation, harassment including sexual, verbal and physical assaults, or any act of violence will not be tolerated. We are also asking that this policy state that threats or threatening behaviors will be investigated immediately and will be grounds for charges according to Blackfeet Tribal Law if found to be in violation of this policy. These types of incidents have been known to occur within and throughout the Blackfeet Tribal Organization and have been numerous enough to not only merit review, but numerous enough to implement such a policy. It is the belief of the petitioners that implementing a zero tolerance and violence-free policy and posting statements of this policy and the consequences of violating this policy in all buildings owned or operated by the Blackfeet Nation will help manage and reduce workplace violence incidents. Employers everywhere have a legal and ethical responsibility to promote a work environment free from threats and violence and the Blackfeet Tribe as the main employer on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation should have the same legal and ethical obligation to do the same. Workplace violence according to this policy will refer to actions including threats, threatening behaviors, intimidation, harassment including sexual, verbal and physical assaults or any other act of violence that originates from the General Public, Blackfeet Tribal Employee's and the Blackfeet Tribal Administration including all Blackfeet Tribal Business Council Members and all will be subject to the guidelines of such a policy. This petition is asking that the Blackfeet Tribe also provide professional training from an outside entity to educate all Blackfeet Tribal Business Council Members, all Blackfeet Tribal Program Directors, and all Blackfeet Tribal Staff Members should they chose to implement this policy. This petition is also asking that the General Public be made aware of this policy should it be implemented as well. The petitioners believe that implementing such a policy will effectively make a positive change as well as working on creating a professional work environment throughout the Blackfeet Tribal Organization.

  • Congressional Reform Act
As with many people, I am disgusted with the way Congress has performed over the past several years. They seem to be out of touch with those who they represent and with the idea they are in Washington to stonewall legislation which would help the economy and the American people. Maybe taking away the privileges they have legislated and giving them the same benefits most people have, would give them a different perspective on healthcare, social security and medicare. Granted this has been passed around the internet, but nobody seems to know how to get the ball rolling to make this happen. Hopefully a petition through your organization might be the means.

  • Disability Discrimination
I am a T-9 paraplegic 38 years old and 38 weeks pregnant and I went to lunch at Burger King where I was filling my drink and an employee came over and punched me in the face insisting I get out of my wheelchair, my 16 yr old son restrained him & after asking 2 employees for help and being ignored a mgr finally came forward and got the man away from us and the city of Lafayette says I have no proof it happened! The man told police he hit me because he wanted me out of my wheelchair! What else do you need! Burger King should be liable for their employee discriminating against me for being physically disabled not to mention my busted mouth and danger they placed me and my son and unborn baby in by employing such a person! Need help getting support to hold them accountable!

  • President Obama: Spend a Little Less on Your Campaign This Year
I feel so bowled over by the obscene amounts of money being spent on this presidential campaign. I think it would be a brave and telling gesture if President Obama stood up and said, "I'm going to forgo just a couple of hours of political ads in a battleground state and donate what my campaign would have spent on those ads to a shelter or some other worthy cause."

  • Nationwide School Gardening Program
In this time of rampant disease related to the Standard Americian Diet, an increased disconnectedness of the people with the land, and climate uncertainties that may threaten our food supply, it is important that our children get exposure to basic gardening principles at an early age. Starting a nationwide public school gardening program will increase our children's connectedness with the land and provide inroads for healthy food alternatives in our nation's schools. Most importantly, with exposure to gardening, they will always know how to feed themselves with good healthy food.

  • ask all cable companies and satelite provider to make the guide and the menus have speech for the...
The reason I am asking for this because I think that blind people should have the access to the guide like their sighted counterparts. The sighted people or the people who don't need the speech reading to them can turn it off within the menues.
