On Wednesday, August 15, 2012, the New York Times published an op-ed entitled Overt Discrimination in Ohio, in response to the fact that voters in conservative leaning counties will be able to vote in the evenings and weekends while voters in more progressive and urban counties will not. Currently, many Ohio county Board of Elections are in dead-lock ties on extending early voting hours and choosing accessible early voting locations. For months, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has personally acted to restrict early voting in counties with large Democratic populations—casting tie-breaking votes to limit voting to weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in urban areas like Franklin County, where in previous elections 82% of early voters did so on nights or weekends. Now, Secretary of State Husted said he is considering limiting early voting hours across the state in the run-up to the November election, and will "be listening to local boards of elections' concerns on this issue. Help us protect working people's voting rights in Tuscarawas County.

Many of my friends work and cannot vote during conventional weekday hours. Because of my schedule, I too have voted on weekends or during extended weekday voting hours. We fear that unless extended hours are provided, we will not be able to exercise our right to vote. We urge our Board of Elections--as well as all Boards of Elections across our state--to let Secretary of State Jon Husted know that Ohioans support giving all registered voters equal opportunity to exercise their right to vote.

The State of Ohio is moving to restrict early voting hours in urban areas. This is clearly meant to disenfranchise the high number of urban voters who have taken advantage of the opportunity to vote on evenings and weekends. Our democratic process calls on as many voters as possible to participate in elections - not just those who can get away from work in the middle of the day.

Ohioans are being denied equal access to the polls this November because Board of Election officials, along with Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted, have denied extended voting hours to counties with large Democratic populations. My petition is about mothers who have babies and their babies are DRUG/ALCOHOL EXPOSED and the child is then taken into CPS custody and the mothers are released from hospital with out any punishment or worry. I feel that when a child is drug/alcohol exposed the mother and father (if present and tests positive) should be given jail time. These children have no fault for their mothers choices and are being abused while in their mothers womb, and these children Can have short or long term health problems including withdrawals and psychological issue. These mothers are consistent drug users with addictions that are harmful to the human body and are putting these babies in harm and they are walking free while the cps systems raise their childrens and at times they go from home to home and many parents are not willing to adopt children who are drug exposed due to the high amount of Care and attention these children need. I have adopted my 3 neices due to the fact that they were taken into cps custody for my sister using drugs while pregnant, thankfully I was able to take full responsibility for my neices but so many children are less fortunate and have to live an unhealthy life growing up in foster care and then going to group homes and most of these children have no where to go once they are 18 and forced to leave the group home and end up on the streets, I truely feel that something needs to be done asap and I know we cant force these selfish human beings to tie their tubes or use birth control but their should be mandatory punishment. Every child should be allowed to live a normal healthy life and not start off their life with drug or alcohol withdrawals. LETS GIVE ALL CHILDREN A HEALTHY CHANCE IN LIFE!!!

Be it enacted that any minor, or California high school student should have a minimum of B or above in all their citizenship grades in school in order to obtain a driver's license.
