• Just Say No to implementation of PA voter ID law.
Governor Corbett has signed a Voter ID bill that would disenfranchise tens of thousands of otherwise eligible Pennsylvania voters. Up to 750,000 registered Pennsylvanians do not currently possess the IDs required by the new law at the polls this November. Delaware County Chief Clerk/Director Laureen Hagen has the opportunity to block this outrageous attack on the constitutionally protected right to vote by joining other election officials in taking legally permissible actions to Just Say No to enforcing the Voter ID law.

  • Just Say No to PA's unfair Voter ID Law
Pennsylvania's new voter ID law will require voters to show valid photo ID at the polls at this fall's election for president and state and local offices. Those who voted for this law say it's needed to prevent voter fraud, but they also acknowledge that Pennsylvania does not have a voter fraud problem. Requiring voter ID at the polls will mostly hurt the poor, the elderly, and people of color, who incidentally are likely Obama supporters. One Pennsylvania Republican promoter of this law even boasted that this law will help Gov. Mitt Romney win Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is a swing state, and Montgomery County is crucial to winning the state. This law, unconstitutional according to voter advocates, must not be allowed to deny the rights of eligible voters or steal an election for anyone.

  • JUST SAY "NO" TO VOTER'S REGISTRATION
THIS RECENT MOVEMENT TO BLOCK VOTERS IN THIS COUNTRY BY HAVING THEM PROVIDE EXCESSIVE IDENTIFICATION IN ORDER TO VOTE HAS QUESTIONABLE REASONING BEHIND IT... NAMELY TO BLOCK ELDERLY, YOUNG AND PEOPLE OF COLOR FROM VOTING BY THESE OUTRAGEOUS DEMANDS...

  • Turn Them Off!
We spend millions and millions of dollars on political ads attacking "the other," when that money could be better spent elsewhere to improve society. It has become a barrier for the average person to run for an office, when it costs so much to run, and political ads are part of that cost. So much money is needed to run for office and maintain a hold on that office, that politicians have become beholden to corporations and the wealthy to raise money for their political offices. This makes politicians loyal to corporations and the wealthy, not the average voter. We must change this. We can start by saying "no" to political ads. Just turn them off when they come on the radio or t.v., so that they lose their value. Once politicians know the ads aren't working, they will stop running them. Want to know who's running for office? Contact your local board of elections or read a newspaper. Want to know how politicians have voted? Read the Congressional Record or newspapers. Want to know where a candidate stands on an issue, write them, e-mail them, ask them, visit their website. We don't need to be bombarded with ads every election cycle to manipulate our votes. Just say no, Turn Them Off.

  • Nationalize The Federal Reserve
We, the people, must be the custodians of our own monetary system. Everyone is affected by the policies of our banking system, and it only makes sense that it must not be under the control of private interests. The policy makers of the federal reserve need to be elected officials that are held accountable by the public.

  • Tell Rep. Kelly: Access to birth control is not like terrorism
We couldn’t make this stuff up if we tried. Congressman Mike Kelly compared the implementation of the Affordable Care Act to Pearl Harbor and September 11. To be fair, the notoriously anti-woman Kelly was speaking specifically about the women’s health component of what he calls “Obamacare.” Kelly objects to the idea of women having access to birth control wherever they work. Here’s what he said: "I know in your mind you can think of times when America was attacked. One is December 7th, that's Pearl Harbor day. The other is September 11th, and that's the day of the terrorist attack. I want you to remember August the 1st, 2012, the attack on our religious freedom. That is a day that will live in infamy, along with those other dates." It’s one thing to disagree about public policy. It’s quite different when you equate access to birth control at work to Pearl Harbor or September 11th. It diminishes the value of the lives lost in both of those attacks, and it insults the tens of millions of women who use birth control. Kelly needs to apologize for his outrageous insult to all Americans. This kind of vitriol is not acceptable for an American Member of Congress.

  • Proposed 28th Amendment to the Constitution
Military personnel only get 50% of their pay upon retirement. Members of Congress retire with full pay after only serving 1 full term. I propose that the legislature cannot pass laws that apply to the citizens of the United States that do not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.
