• Petition To Change Racist Street Names In Nashville
Nashville has a long history of racial injustice. We must end glorification of slavery and racism by removing these tributes. Atlanta has already done the same to its Confederate Drive. It’s time, Nashville.

  • Boycott Twitter
Trump is inciting violence and supporting white supremacy over Twitter as well as slandering anyone who disagrees with him. This is not acceptable behavior for anyone using Twitter especially the president of the United States. Currently, he is feeding the fires of civil unrest causing more danger and violence.

  • Law Enforcement Officials Need To Be Held To A Higher Standard Within The Law
I feel very strongly about making a change and bringing our people all back together as one! I can no longer just sit back and watch what is happening all over the world. As time this goes on, things will get worse!!! This whole thing has gotten out of control, we have to start really making changes and the only way to do it is legally!!

  • Justice for George Floyd - Assign AG Keith Ellison as Special Prosecutor
Minnesotans and people all over the world watched in horror as George Floyd was murdered by police officers in broad daylight. We hope to see his name in the history books as the arbiter of great change. However, at this moment, we must focus on making sure George receives the justice he deserves in our court system. Please ask Governor Walz to assign Attorney General Keith Ellison to the George Floyd case.

  • Charge Police Officer Derek Chauvin with 1st or 2nd degree NOT manslaughter!
This is extremely important because cops cannot be above the law, racism cannot win, and there needs to be proper repercussion for their actions. I am tired of seeing law enforcement just get a slap on the wrist. For seven minutes, George Floyd and bystanders cried out and pleaded for his life as your officers choked him to death in broad daylight. This is an act of police violence committed on an innocent, unarmed Black man. No one deserves what happened to George.

  • Children, Hunger, Inoculations
I have no idea if this is feasible, or is against the 1st Amendment ( but it is my free speech), I think this is an option that should be considered. Our government needs to pay more attention to this looming double crisis as it will effect the country as Covid-19 has.

  • Reject the May Proposal Bill
The Governor of CA has proposed cuts to Medi-Cal. Physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy would no longer be covered as optional benefits under this proposal. This would mean that patients with Medi-Cal who have had strokes, spinal cord injuries, amputations, etc. would no longer receive PT as well as other rehabilitation services. • This item saves the State of California $5.6 Mil, but loses $14.2 Mil in federal matching funds we receive for this services. This makes NO sense. • These services have been proposed to be cut during past recessions, but this cut has always been rejected because of how critically important Physical Therapy services are in the spectrum of care. • Physical therapists provide including services to patients with joint replacements, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, injuries of all kinds, strokes, head and neurological injuries, burn victims, and more. • In effect, these services generate positive patient outcomes, lead patients back to their activities of daily living, reduce the complications associated with neurodegenerative and neurological injuries, improve patient quality of life, and guide patients back to returning to work. This is proven through evidence-based research, clinical practices, and patient experiences. • Cutting out these services will place patients in critical conditions, decline their physical and mental well-being, and deplete their potential to regain function and normalcy to become a contributing member in society If you believe there should NOT be any cuts to Medi-Cal funding for rehabilitative services, please sign below. This petition will be sent to the Senator who represents San Jose, Campbell, Cupertino, Monte Serano and Los Gatos in Northern California, but this proposal is a state-wide effect that requires you to contact legislators in your area/district as well.

  • Tell Our Senators to Support the HEROES in Our Schools
Every day we live with the threat of coronavirus, our children suffer. Many are watching family members and friends get sick and die. Most are losing out on milestones like end of year activities, graduation, sports seasons and time with friends. We need to get them back in the classroom and connected to the academic, social and emotional services they need to meet their full potential – but we have to make sure they are safe and the health of everyone is the school community is protected. And that means monitoring and testing everyone entering the building, extra disinfecting cleanings, smaller class sizes and extra supports for traumatized students. It also means boosting broadband services and supplying technology for the entire community for distance learning so no one is left behind. We know this will take more – not fewer – resources, and the House made a great start. Now we need the Senate to pass the recovery package with at least what the House has provided: Nearly $1 trillion for state and local services like public safety, healthcare, mental health and opioid treatment and public education, including at least $100 billion in direct aid to our K-12 public schools and public colleges and universities.

  • No Bailout for Plastic Industry
I agree with the Fed Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell (appointed by the current president), that Congress must keep these millions of people in their homes with food in their refrigerators. This once in a 100 yr catastrophe is custom made for government help. $3T is generous and appropriate. Now we must keep the funds moving the country forward.

  • Graduation 2020 SHS
This is important to the senior class, because they have gone through so much this year. Spring sports have been cancelled, events such as prom, senior trip, and much more has been cancelled, along with the remaining school year. These students at least deserve to graduate together, not separately. If the staff truly believes 2020 is the vision for the future, then let the class see it’s own choice.
