President Obama, I have seen legislation that stopped the over growth of corporations like Standard oil ( Chevron) ; can this be re- established today?

Our Founding Fathers probably did not intend for our national legislatures to consist of "professional polititions" If Congressmen were restricted to 4 terms of two years, and if Senators were restricted to 2 terms of six years, they would be less swayed by lobbyists and special interests and would not need to spend as much time and energy getting re-elected.

Voters in Republican districts will generally have broader access to early voting than voters in Democratic districts in Ohio. Ohio's Secretary of State, Jon Husted, claims Ohio is "not 7-Eleven and can't stay open 24-7 and let anybody vote by any rule…we have standards" (Laura Ingrham radio show...as quoted on The Rachel Maddow Show 8/10.) This is a sad day for democracy in Ohio. All voters in all districts should have equal access to early voting.

Our government has already legalized the use and surveillance of the American public. Used in conjunction with the ability to detain citizens under false pretense or suspected terroristic activity, ie freedom of speech, free journalism without trial is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

Governor Mark Dayton has used good sense in how he governs Minnesota. He was a good senator too. He won the race for governor--although he was not endorsed by the Minnesota DFL party--because people think he is a smart, honest, and fair person, and the best leader for the job.

Tennessee Supreme Court should overturn the new Voter ID law. It actively disenfranchises many groups of people including those who do not drive and is classist.

AiCASF corporate heads are planning to sublease part of 10UN to an outside business for use. We are losing the fourth floor to an unknown company. This will lower the rent the school pays without any regard to lowering our tuition. Sign on to this petition to stop the sublease and let your voice be heard! In the past two years, Boko Haram has terrorized innocent and law-abiding Nigerians. They are responsible for attacks on churches, schools, media houses and government buildings including the August 2011 bombing of the UN building in Nigeria's capitol city of Abuja. They have killed more than 1400 men, women, and children, and has hindered freedom of religion. I have several relatives who have become internally displaced, some lost their parents and many their means of livelihood. The Nigerian government has been unable to curb their actions. Help us tell US State Department to declare Boko Haram a Foreign Terrorist Organization which will help cut off its funding sources within and outside Nigeria.

Folks in Georgia want the Georgia legislature to restore funding for public schools rather than spending tax dollars on building a parallel system of charter schools that lack the same oversight and standards as public schools.

Outlaw the use of ROUND UP.

Congressman Joe Walsh has a long history of using condescending names and insults toward people whom he disagrees with politically. He has also patronizingly called me “my dear,” disparaged my military service, referred to a female TV host as “kiddo,” claimed that African Americans are “dependent upon government” and that “Jesse Jackson would be out of work if they weren’t,” and said that veterans who disagree with him “don’t understand this country.” It’s bad enough that Walsh constantly refuses common-sense compromises on legislation. But not treating political opponents with even a minimum level of civility? That’s unacceptable. It can be easy to tune out Walsh’s offensive comments since, frankly, there are just so many of them. But we have a responsibility to hold him accountable every time.
