Qualified Immunnity in the courts, politics and in the legal world allows a special group of people to be free of all penalties. The commoner is subject to all penalities. fines, loss of jobs, prison. The people that created and made legal this entittlement, are the very special group that enjoys its luxury. No fines, no job loss and no prison sentence. Any person who had suffered any of these penalties in this country are the commoner. We ask you to take a hard look at what is happening in the United States Senate. We are losing our democracy and the chief responsibility lies with Harry Reid. Senator Reid is the Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate for the Democrats and he not only squandered the wins and mandates of the 2008 election for the Democrats, he has turned democracy itself on it's head, by failing to act effectively on behalf of the majority of Americans who voted in U.S. Senate races. We are Democrats. In 2008 we worked hard to get Democrats elected to office and we achieved a huge mandate by electing President Obama and strong majorities in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Harry Reid has essentially nullified these wins. Since 2008 Senate Republicans have used the filibuster to block everything they can. The recent Republican filibusters are at a historic high and have resulted in the Senate being tied in knots. Harry Reid failed to use his bully pulpit to shame this practice from the start, and in January 2011 he failed to tighten the filibuster rules to prevent this overdose. We can blame Republicans all we want, but the truth is; Harry Reid is incompetent as the Senate Majority Leader and he has neglected his responsibility to represent us. Senator Reid created Super Committees comprised of equal numbers of Republicans to Democrats, again negating the strong mandate of the 2008 elections for Democrats, and negating the majorities we won in 2010. Harry Reid needs to be replaced now; preferably no later than September 2012. We ask our Democratic Senators to select a colleague who will keep a dialogue with the American people, explaining clearly and concisely what major legislation is being drafted and why it is important. We ask for a respected, progressive Democrat with persuasive speaking skills and a full understanding of how to use the Senate Rules most effectively and in keeping with ideals of representing the will of the people. With the above qualities in mind, we suggest the following U.S. Senators be considered most strongly for this critical position: Sharrod Brown, Richard Durbin, Tom Harkin, Patty Murray, Charles Schumer and Sheldon Whitehouse. In the interest of public safety, every state must create a transcript for every person who purchases a gun, no matter what kind, and ammunition. This transcript will be available to the federal government and states. Every time a person purchases a gun it will be noted on the transcript. When a person buys an assault weapon and ammunition, it will be flagged by local and federal authorities.

The Michigan State Legislature has made all fireworks legal. But even when they were illegal, there was no recourse for those affected by them. Citizens complain of being "blown out of bed" at all hours of the night, having to sedate their pets with drugs due to the anxiety created by loud fireworks displays, veterans with PTSD are terrorized once again and all wildlife is stressed from the blasts. Fireworks emit toxic heavy metals in the smoke which goes onto our gardens, on our lawns where our children play, in the lake water and into our lungs. These metals can cause cancer, lung distress and digestive disorders. One must ask, is this really fun? And, what rights do we have to a quiet, peaceful home environment?

The public sewer dept. used lies and miss information to borrow 34 mil to expand their system to 1670 residences and destroy there working septic tanks. Their system is failing and dumping raw or poorly treated sewage into a creek. We are being forced to pay a high monthly fee if we hook up to the system or not. If one hooks up to the system they will be adding more pharmaceuticals to the drinking water that is already affecting fish and the human race.

Our country recently witnessed another gun-related tragedy in Aurora, CO. We cannot allow one more innocent life to be taken. We are calling on our elected leaders to end this senseless violence by enacting legislation that will limit the number and types of weapons that individuals can own.
