I just found out that the firefighters we see on the news risking their lives to put out forest fires are federally employed. According to the Forest Service, because these firefighters are considered "seasonal", they receive no health insurance due to a congressional law which prohibits it. This is just plain wrong and should be rectified by Congress as quickly as possible.

Constitutional Amendment forcing Congress to use the same services and products that are available to the general public thereby eliminating all of the exclusive perks of Congress.

I am sick and tired of "political debates" that allow politicians to continually waste our time, regurgitating "talking points", rather than answering the questions. Moderators should have an iridescent orange paddle to judge the speakers response as "Off topic", "irrelevant", "content-free" and perhaps a independent panel (?politifact.com) can judge "untrue" also!

Tasers are used by police. Tasers kill (or immobilize) people by delivering a 50,000 volt shock. This shock can and has killed people , including healthy people. When police officers use this device on unarmed people, the young the elderly; they are executing innocent people. Without charge and without trial. Until TASERS are 100% safe and the company TASER International, are willing to pay for the deaths they cause (and will cause) then TASERs should be banned.

Utitlity companies, specifically natural gas utitlities are applying recurring deposits of as much as $500 to bills of people who are struggling to pay. The companies are not regulated properly by state public utilities commisions, that basically allow the companies to increase rates as they wish. The higher rates and recurring deposits are applied at a time when there is an abundance of natural gas available in the country. Why is this happening? These deposits are often applied when citizens are slow or late paying. The bill swells to an insurmountable amount which then leads to inevitable shut offs.

I am not able to meet with my Congressmen without making an appointment weeks in advance; why should a lobbyist be able to grab his/her ear at will? Lobbyists have an agenda to get special treatment for a variety of reasons, especially giant corporations who already control what happens in Congress.

Those who wish to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act should first withdraw from the tax-payer sponsored health insurance policies covering them and their dependants. I would not be surprised if many of them would have difficulty obtaining coverage (or pay exorbitant rates) because of pre-existing conditions - a policy which will not be allowed under AHCA after 2014.

Under the Citizens United Ruling corporations were granted personhood. With personhood also comes the responsibility of taxation as a person for the greater good of society.

How can a citizen be expected to live under the burden of laws that are so lengthy that they cannot be read? How can a legislator represent us properly he or she cannot even bother to read a law of the land and any new bills that are being considered? Many bills now are printed just prior to a vote and have hundreds of pages appended to ram special interest pork items to tag along with an idea that has merit. The opportunity exists for the text to change as it is added to the federal register. Lawmakers who participate in this activity are not properly representing the interest of the citizens. I might go so far to suggest that this activity of voting on unread bills is an act of treason.
