Americans need a national holiday to participate in the voting process. Provide a paid day off to registered voters to vote in November National & Local Elections so that the voting process cannot be compromised by apathy.

UCLA forces on-campus residents to buy over priced specialty drinks for excess swipes every term. As residents, we should be treated to more options for our swipes! This petition is to bring resident dissatisfaction with the limited food/ swipe options to the attention of UCLA housing.

1. A people's group with autos who can pick up people and take them to a place to obtain a valid ID to vote. 2. This same group can also pick up people and deliver them to their voting place on election day, wait for them and take them home.

March 2012: The Federal Reserve Bank of NY released numbers that many found startling; 36 Billion dollars (4.2%) of our nation’s total student loan debt belongs to Americans 60 and older. An additional $98 Billion (11.3%) belong to soon-to-be seniors ages 50-59, and those between age 40 and 49 owe $142 Billion (16.4%). 
These age groups, who should be planning for, or enjoying retirement, account for 32% of our nations total student loan debt! Many of these borrowers are, or soon will be, subject to Social Security garnishments! In 1987 then President Reagan abolished a law that would prevent false and misleading information in broadcasting. We want to bring back high quality news in our country.We deserve and demand civility, modesty, honesty, cogeniality and idealism in journalism.

Banks used bogus, forged, paperwork to kick family's out of their homes. A firm was contracted to sign documents with a fake signature indicating the banks owned the property. There needs to be an indictment of those responsible, just as we would be jailed for committing forgery for financial gain.. This was detailed by some of the very people hired on 60 Minutes!

Put Social Security funds in a locked account so the money can't be used for anything but Social Security. How would the elected officials like it if we took their pension funds and used it for other purposes?

The governor of Florida is allowing officials to send out notices to people already registered to vote to prove their citizenship or be dropped from the voter rolls. Names are being illegally removed. This has already taken place in the last 3 Presidential elections. It is an obvious political move by Republicans to prevent Democrats from voting.

Abraham was the first African-American Secret Service Agent assigned to the White House. President John F. Kennedy personally chose Abraham from the Chicago office of the Secret Service. Following the murder of President Kennedy, Abraham attempted to discuss with the "Johnson Commission" the sloopy and negligent protection of President Kennedy. This included drinking and womanizing on the job, exactly what happened in Columbia last month. For trying to tell the Truth about this and the aborted attempt on President Kennedy in Chicago on November 2, 1963, Abe was charged with bribery and passing confidential information to counterfeiters, the same people he had been successfully investigating. The government railroaded Abe through two trials and convicted him of the bogus charges. He served three years and three months of a six year sentence, where the government attempted to force drugs into Abe. Since his release he has lived quietly in the same home in Chicago. I have taught my grandkids to always be respectful, particularly of their elders. But former Senator and current co-chair of the Fiscal Commission Alan Simpson, who is pushing to gut Social Security, either didn’t get that lesson or wasn’t good at listening to what his grandmother said. After fellow members of the California Alliance for Retired Americans and I participated in a protest of his recommended policies in March, Simpson sent a nasty letter that referred to us as “greedy geezers.” But that’s not all. Simpson went on to call us “a wretched group of seniors” and said, “You must feel some sense of shame for shoveling out this bulls**t,” for expressing our views that his plan to destroy Social Security is wrong for me, my grandchildren and the future of our country. “Greedy geezers” and “wretched” seniors? That is not the kind of remarks that our public officials tasked with one of the most important policy decisions in our country’s history should be making. That’s why I set up this petition to tell Congress members – both Democrats and Republicans – that Simpson’s comments are no better than his ideas for gutting Social Security for current and future generations. Please take a quick second to sign my petition and let your Member of Congress know that you don’t support Simpson’s out-of-line comments, or his ideas that end Social Security as we know it by cutting benefits and raising the retirement age.

Fifty-plus years of restricting and punishing commerce with Cuba has done nothing good for the United States. That blockade and restrictions on travel should be eliminated immediately.
