Democrats in the House have proposed raising minimum wage to $10 and hour. Raising minimum wage will allow large numbers of people, particularly women and minorities, to better support themselves and their families. We all know that America tends to look down on individuals who are not completely self sufficient, but also creates systems that make it impossible for people to meet that goal. Raising minimum wage will allow countless people more dignity and respect, as well as breathing room in their budgets.

Candidates that "flat-out lie!" should be penalized! We do not need a LIAR in the White House. Falsehoods need to be corrected!

I do not even have provide reasons why Citizens United is the ultimate of WRONG; it is glaringly obvious why this needs to be repealed. It should never have been approved by the Supreme Court. It just goes to show how corruption has wormed its way through our entire system. REPEAL CITIZENS UNITED

The US spends more money than any other country for maternity care and has one of the highest maternal mortality rates. It has been shown that the majority of obstetric guidelines experienced by women are "not based on good and consistent scientific evidence." We think Americans must become educated on the state of our maternity care system and demand that changes to be made to promote physiologic childbirth, as well as accurate information for women to make informed decisions for their health care.

American voting rights are under siege. In 2011 alone, 19 new laws and two executive orders were enacted to make it harder for people to vote this year. The Bush Administration started the trend started a decade ago, targeting an alleged epidemic of voter fraud. But a study by the Justice Department five years on found virtually no evidence of illegal attempts to skew elections. 

 Thirty-one states now require that people have a government-issued ID card to vote. This is a needless barrier for any voter, but when you consider that 25 percent of African Americans do not have photo IDs, compared to 11 percent of all voters, it is no wonder that many see these laws as a modern day poll tax. 

 The evidence shows that these laws are a solution for a non-existent problem. And they suppress the vote—especially in historically disenfranchised communities. 

To ensure that every American can exercise their right to vote in November, join with me in asking your local election officials to take the following measures now. The integrity of the election depends on it.

A very simple way to bring down gasoline prices is to require that all gasoline powered vehicles in the United States operate on the same grade of gasoline. This can significantly reduce costs for refining, storing, and transporting different grades of gasoline. Auto makers already comply with many regulations, and this is easy for them. This requires no new technology, no new infrastructure, and only simple changes in the design of a small minority of vehicles. There is no good reason for having multiple grades of gasoline.

Over the past year, the efforts in Wisconsin have mobilized a new wave of activists. And the fight continues in Milwaukee, as the workers of Palermo’s Pizza are fighting to form a union in order to secure safe working conditions – and facing intimidation and threats by the frozen pizza company. The company has even resorted to threatening employees with immigration audits in order to intimidate and frighten workers of all backgrounds. In the face of unlawful efforts to interfere with their efforts to organize, these courageous, hard-working employees are standing strong in solidarity. The Palermo’s Pizza workers call on pizza lovers everywhere to contact Palermo’s Pizza and tell them that customers won’t buy their pizza unless the company stops the unlawful intimidation campaign and attacks on workers’ rights.

As it now stands, only the first 110,000 of a worker's wages are Social Secuirty taxable. All of a worker's are Medicare taxable. So if someone makes 110,000 maximum in a year, all of those wages are Social Secuirty taxable. But - if someone else makes 500,000 in a year, only 110,000 of those wages are Social Security taxable. Why? Makes no sense. If all wages were Social Security taxable and the government kept their hands off this money and used it for Social Security only, I believe the Social Security program would be solvent.

The American public is becoming fat, if not morbidly obese, mostly due to our food choices. But in our food choices, especially the ones promoted as healthy, there are hidden super sugars that people could unwittingly be allergic to or that tend to compromise how our system produces and deals with hormones, which can cause more weight gain or prevent weight loss. The government needs to regulate what, and how much of the these ingredients should be in our food supply.

The Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007 is due to expire in December of 2012. Even people who have managed to maintain good credit are finding that their homes may be worth as much as one third of their mortgage. We need to make this Act permanent for all those homeowners who are struggling with their mortgages and may ultimately end of losing their homes, thus inccurring a new tax debt for nonpayment of the mortgage of tens of thousandsor even a hundred thousand dollars or more.

If RICO gets passed on the State level I assure you all our black children will be at risk for unfair targeting under this act. Illinois is a corrupt state as it is and with entrusting them with this type of power it will surely be abused. Every black person will be labeled a "known gang member" and would then be subject to prosecution under this law. Sign to stop this NOW!!!
