Commercial drivers in the state of California are unable to attend traffic school on a moving violation when the incident occurs in their personal vehicle. The problem with this is it's just unfair not being able to redeem oneself of a violation in your personal vehicle like everyone else. Not being able to attend traffic school on a violation that happens while driving a personal vehicle affects insurrance rates, and could affect ones job further hendering the economy. Yes, a commercial driver should be held to a higher standard while driving a commercial vehicle; however, driving your personal vehicle a person holding a commercial license should be treated in the same manner as others in their personal vehicle. Another form of discrimination?

I do not feel that the forgiveness act is a good idea, because it allows people to rack up huge debt for an education and allows them to have no debt, nor responsibility to that debt. What are they actually learning? That it is okay to rack up huge debt because the government will wipe your slate clean. I propose that the government view each individual loan that is presented to them and not wipe their debt clean, but rather base their debt on how much they are earning 6 months to a year after graduation.

In Massachusetts, the law states that cultivation of Marijuana alone is enough to convict for intent to distribute. It does not matter if it is one plant or one hundred. This means that anyone arrested with a Marijuana plant(s) will (and have been) be convicted of intent to distribute as well as cultivation, regardless of what the actual evidence suggests. It is the responsibility of the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt and that includes intent. As written this law violates due process, and needs to be changed so that those who grow for personal use are not wrongly viewed as drug dealers.

Grover Norquist is not an elected official, and he's not a political appointee. Republicans fear him and his organization, Americans For Tax Reform. They have signed The Pledge. The Pledge is forever. Grover will not allow them to UNSIGN The Pledge. American citizens did not sign The Pledge. Most of us do not even know about it, but we are adversely affected by it. The Pledge leaves no room for compromise. Without compromise, there is no democracy.

We want churches who preach political messages to have to pay taxes. (Any churches - not just Catholics). They should NOT be tax exempt. We also want to suspend any and all tax monies directed to Catholic Charities when they only want to cause trouble and sue our government over something that was supposedly settled. WE THE PEOPLE are tired of it. If the Catholic Church insists on doing this, we don't need to send them money! EVER!

On Wed,May 23 Pennsylvania State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) will introduce his bill known as the Whole Woman’s Health Funding Priority Act to the PA State Legislature. This legislation, which was co-written by the anti-abortion activist groups Susan B. Anthony List and Allience Defense Fund, would put health care providers that offer abortion services at the bottom of the priority list for state funding. The proposed pill is very similar to the one Arizona lawmakers passed earlier this year to defund Planned Parenthood. . Tell Rep Metcalfe and the rest of Pennsylvania's lawmakers NO!

The UC Board of Directors continually raises tuition on its students every year by more than 5 times the rate of inflation. At the same time, the Board of Directors keeps approving raises for its board members by of 5- 25% of their current salaries. There are currently over 1,000 people in the UC System earning over $200,000 a year. This is unacceptable for a public education institution. Please help put a stop to the undeserved raises and help keep tuition costs low.

The US Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution with the Bill of Rights declared that within the boundaries of the United States the people shall be sovereign. There was and is to be no power higher than that of the People. For the past century and a half, the US Supreme Court has, with a series of decisions, replaced the sovereign people with the sovereign corporation. That which was the creation of the people through the authority of the State has now become more powerful and more sovereign than the people. Our creation now stands over us and we must pay homage to it. The People must regain their rightful place. It can only do this by amending the US Constitution to remove the rights of persons from corporations, to make clear that corporations are the servants of the People and not the People's masters. Therefore, we support the effort of Move to Amend to amend the US Constitution to make the People sovereign.
