• Save academic excellence in Three Village
At this time, I urge you to contact members of the administration and board members to convey the importance of programs such as full day kindergarten, Pi, Young Composers, and a 9 period high school day for our academically talented and motivated students. Expressing concerns heard throughout the community, such as teacher's contract negotiations, would also be appropriate as potential solutions to balancing the budget while saving academic programs. Certainly, we value our teachers, but everyone needs to make some concessions to make this budget work. We must communicate our concerns now, in order to have our voices heard before the budget proposals are finalized in a few short days.

  • Support Educate - Cold Fusion/LENR
Political support would have been crucial two decades ago in developing the basic science of cold fusion energy by procuring funding for a coordinated plan of research. It is essential as these products reach commercialization this year.

  • FCRA, redefine "court reporter" in the Statutes
The state of Florida allows digital court reporters to be the guardians of the record by definition in the Statutes. Digital court reporting firms have the largest profit margins and provide large gift-giving incentives, which places the consumer of our services in serious danger of tax consequences as outlined by the NCRA. This also places the consumer of our services in danger of receiving inferior products. We implore you to redefine what a true court reporter is to exclude digital reporters in the private sector, yet allowing the government to continue to use their currently integrated systems in certain divisions.

  • Whatcom's Gateway-Pacific Terminal--Not Just About Coal
The Gateway Terminal project isn't just about coal--it involves a second pier for bulk and break-bulk shipping, which could mean increased rail traffic of hazardous materials through Whatcom communities. China currently imports more chemicals than it produces. Citizens of Whatcom County deserve to know more about the long-term plans for this facility.

  • Keep our nation's patents accessible
The Rich have been running our nation's companies into the ground just for the money. When a company is taken over and it's financial bones picked clean 'Just For the money ' it lays off workers, it closes the doors on product access, and services, and the PATENTS and Licenses Used to make and provide products and services are lock away or worst sold to foreign countries.

  • Support a Governor Who Supports Education
The Utah Education Association PAC’s endorsement of Utah Gov. Gary Herbert cannot be allowed to distract Utahns from talking about the facts regarding the lack of support Utah teachers and schools have received under the Herbert Administration. We can all agree Utah has the best teachers, parents, and family oriented communities in the country. All of this is true in spite of a chronic lack of support for our students and teachers from Utah's state government. We are calling on Utahns to show their support for a new administration that will lead a reform of our education system, where teachers can once again be proud of their profession, where the state leads the nation in education – not follows behind in last place – and where the Governor’s Office stands shoulder to shoulder with Utahns for a better education.

  • Stoplight/stop signs at Jeanne St/Constitution Dr
With Target opening in the fall in Pembroke Mall, the intersection at Jeanne Street and Constitution Drive will be even more busy. Currently most Pembroke Manor residents do not have good options for heading east on Virginia Beach Blvd., nor is there an easy way to even exit our community via these two streets. A traffic light or stop signs at this intersection will give Pembroke Manor residents the ability to exit and enter our community with the ease in which the streets were intended. Sign this petition to call the City to action.

  • END THE ATTACK ON U.S. WILDERNESS AND THE 1964 WILDERNESS ACT: KILL HR 4089.
On April 17, 2012, the U.S. House of Representatives passed HR 4089, the Sportsmen's Heritage Act, supposedly to protect and enhance opportunities for recreational hunting, fishing, and shooting. This bill is a thinly disguised measure to gut the 1964 Wilderness Act and protections for every acre of the National Wilderness Preservation System. Supported by the National Rifle Association, the bill would allow the dismemberment of wilderness through road, dam and building construction, as well as extensive habitat modifications. We are petitioning Senate Majority Leader Reid who can prevent this destructive legislation from going any further. This petition is in partnership with The REWILDING INSTITUTE. http://rewilding.org/rewildit/
