We want churches who preach political messages to have to pay taxes. (Any churches - not just Catholics). They should NOT be tax exempt. We also want to suspend any and all tax monies directed to Catholic Charities when they only want to cause trouble and sue our government over something that was supposedly settled. WE THE PEOPLE are tired of it. If the Catholic Church insists on doing this, we don't need to send them money! EVER!

On Wed,May 23 Pennsylvania State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) will introduce his bill known as the Whole Woman’s Health Funding Priority Act to the PA State Legislature. This legislation, which was co-written by the anti-abortion activist groups Susan B. Anthony List and Allience Defense Fund, would put health care providers that offer abortion services at the bottom of the priority list for state funding. The proposed pill is very similar to the one Arizona lawmakers passed earlier this year to defund Planned Parenthood. . Tell Rep Metcalfe and the rest of Pennsylvania's lawmakers NO!

The UC Board of Directors continually raises tuition on its students every year by more than 5 times the rate of inflation. At the same time, the Board of Directors keeps approving raises for its board members by of 5- 25% of their current salaries. There are currently over 1,000 people in the UC System earning over $200,000 a year. This is unacceptable for a public education institution. Please help put a stop to the undeserved raises and help keep tuition costs low.

The US Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution with the Bill of Rights declared that within the boundaries of the United States the people shall be sovereign. There was and is to be no power higher than that of the People. For the past century and a half, the US Supreme Court has, with a series of decisions, replaced the sovereign people with the sovereign corporation. That which was the creation of the people through the authority of the State has now become more powerful and more sovereign than the people. Our creation now stands over us and we must pay homage to it. The People must regain their rightful place. It can only do this by amending the US Constitution to remove the rights of persons from corporations, to make clear that corporations are the servants of the People and not the People's masters. Therefore, we support the effort of Move to Amend to amend the US Constitution to make the People sovereign.

We need to pass a bill that makes it illegal to be a congressman/woman and to: 1. accept campaign funds (conflict of interest or bribery) 2. participate in insider trading.

I want the big banks held accountable for their fraud and replace Timothy Geithner as our Treasury Secretary who says that the big banks did not do anything illegal. Virtually the big banks' fraud was a terrorist type action that has destroyed pension plans, created millions of foreclosures and destroyed the hope and dreams of now millions of middle and working class Americans who do the "real work" of our country. We lost our high-school friend Hart almost 30 years ago to a violent, non-remorseful criminal with a long history of crime. Hart had a life full of promise. He had just graduated high school, and was attending a technical college in Texas, when he and several friends were brutally attacked by several grown men outside a nightclub. Those men had criminal records a mile long. John Wilkins was found guilty of the murder, and sentenced to LIFE in a Texas prison. But for the past 20 years or so, Hart's family has endured parole reviews every 1-1/2 to 3 years. The Texas DOCJ can choose to give prisoners a "5-year setoff," which means that only every five years is the prisoner up for parole. Instead, they choose to use shorter setoffs as incentive with prisoners to encourage them to behave. This practice creates stress and anxiety in the families...they already lost a loved one, but to be continually tortured with parole reviews every couple of years is inhumane. The State of Texas needs to take the needs of victim's families into consideration, and extend setoffs to a reasonable amount of time as DEFINED BY THE FAMILIES. Not the prisoner.
