• The End of Campaign Contributions Influence on Government
This petition would educate people to the wholesale buying of democracy by monied interests. It would seek to limit the amount of influence that large contributions to political campaigns would have.

  • Tax the Roman Catholic and evangelical churches
Todays Council of Bishops USA and evangelical extremists are pushing political agendas, not faith, in an effort to subvert the USA Constitution and destroy what Thomas Jefferson called a "wall of separation between church and state" (at the request of the Danbury CT Baptist church).

  • Reduce Limitation of Liability for Corporations and LLCs
The provision of a limitation of liability in most State Constitutions allows investors in corporations and LLCs to limit their liability for bad actions on their part to the amount of their investment. This Petition would reduce that limitation to 50% and the other 50% of the liability of a corporation or LLC would come out of the investor's personal funds. In order to fix our economic system, these investors need to have "skin in the game." Obviously, the present system is broken and provides too much irresponsibility.

  • Reduce Legislative Pay and Benefits
In Washington and in many states, as well, bloated pay and benefits packages insulate Legislators from the reality felt by their constituents; thus, they support massive tax cuts for folks like themselves and benefit cuts for the rest of us. Before they increase the burden on the poor and middle class, they should be forced to cut corners on themselves.

  • Mitt Romney is NOT Safe for America
Romney's proposed budget cuts total spending 20% of GDP by 2016, including Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), compensation and pensions for low-income and disabled Vets, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for the poor aged and disabled. Also cuts non-defense discretionary spending $166B by 2016 including: aid to Public Education, Vets healthcare, Law enforcement, National parks, Environmental protection, and biomedical and scientific research. (Source: Romney's Proposed Budget and Congressional Budget Office estimates) These cuts can only cause austerity at a time when all of us are hurting financially. Austerity DOES NOT work in times of economic crisis as evidenced by the Greek meltdown. By signing this petition, you denounce Romney's economic agenda which favors the wealthy. Please do so ASAP before the primaries in your states. The Florida primary is on August 14 and urge Floridians to sign this petition before then.

  • Right to Die
I'm old and worn out and I want to die without pain and suffering or without leaving my life's savings to the medical-insurance complex. I want palliative care so I don't have to endure pain and suffering, I do not want to be transported, revived, electrocuted, irradiated, poisoned or autopsied. I'm not scared of death or disease, I get that nobody gets out alive and I just want the medical people to allow me to go without pain and suffering.

  • Vote NO!
Even the Communists can vote against someone! Why can why not just say "NO!" Why can't we vote "No, I don't want that guy, and I am not going to vote for the other guy either." We need to be able to say "Neither guy!" None of the choices are any good. Acclimation means a new election!

  • Give a man a fish...
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." -Chinese Proverb Our country has a record deficit. Threats of cutting benefits to the elderly are on the table. Times are tough for many people but the working-poor and the middle class are shouldering the majority of the financial burden as well as making the majority of sacrifices that it takes to get through day-to-day. It is time for our federal and local politicians to stop the threats of cutting benefits to our elderly. It is time for our activists in the communities to stop battling the corporations that employ those of us who are employed. It is time for more, non-elderly Americans to be accountable for their own well-being and to suffer consequences from their own actions. A strict time limit should be set for adults who exist off of public aid. Drug screening should be mandated for all adults who accept public aid in any form--subsidized housing, food/EBT cards, welfare checks, etc. Volunteering should be mandated for those living off of public assistance. Birth control should be mandated after having one child that must be supported on public assistance. Men and women who continue to have children they are not supporting should have harsh consequences and/or mandated sterilization. Public assistance is a way of life for many who are perfectly capable of getting a job, who can further their education on student loans (like many of us have done in the past), and who can work two jobs to support children they continue to have even when they can't afford their first. Being a stay-at-home parent should not be an option on the taxpayers bill. The refugee and immigrant programs should be frozen until our country is back on its feet. There should also be a requirement for those who enter the country to be readily employable with some sort of English speaking ability as well as productive skills to add to our economy. The working class should not have to support ESL class, food and housing, and ongoing healthcare for this population when we are also struggling to put food on the table and pay our own rent and living expenses. Medicare and social security should not be threatened for our elderly. Americans should all have to work to put into this system and when they are 65+, they should have this entitlement to help into their later years. Stop the handouts not only for the corporations but also for those who make public assistance a way of life--it should not be an option to live from long term. Help them plan for a future, give them a time frame to work with, and then let them be accountable for their own well-being. Too much money is being spent on enabling public assistance as a way of life. Too many children are being brought into this world by men and women who are not prepared to raise and support their own children financially or emotionally. Stop the madness. This is a growing problem and it's sad to think about what our future looks like if we continue to enable this way of life for this growing population.

  • GRAND LARCENY AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL: Show Us The Written Law to Pay Federal Taxes
The Government has taken money from people for Federal Taxes forever, however, they have never produced a written law. There is NO LAW, no allocation of the funds they collect, and we are penalized for not paying. It's time to stop the madness.

  • Give Us Free Higher Education
Free higher education in not a new idea. In fact, its given to many people in countries around the world. Countries such as Norway, Denmark, Finland, Scotland, France, Italy, Spain and Germany in Europe, to Saudi Arabia in the Middle East, to Morocco and Kenya in Africa, to Argentina, Peru and Brazil in South America, all give higher education to its people. However, here in the United States higher education has skyrocketed! It's gotten so bad that higher education is only attainable from a family that's wealthy. The economy has changed so much over the decades that many jobs in the workforce now require a masters or even a Ph.D. Implied by this is the realization that many will be doomed to a lifetime of poverty without higher education. I believe that higher education is not only a means to economic security but a human right as well! I propose that we give free higher education (including graduate education) to everyone who wants it. We can pay for this proposal by levying a financial transaction tax raising the needed money to fund it. Let's do the right thing for our country. Give us free higher education!
