• Get Money Out of Politics
Dear Fellow Philadelphians, The Supreme Court has ruled that corporations are essentially "persons" with the same constitutional rights that real people (like you and me) have and that money is equivalent to "free speech." So now, corporations can spend as much money as they want to influence elections and our elected officials. It is time to get corporate money and influence out of politics and give democracy back to "We the People” by amending the Constitution. To date, many cities and communities across our nation have passed resolutions calling for this amendment. As the birthplace of the Constitution, Philadelphia needs to stand up and be heard on this issue. So, we are asking you to sign this petition to our City Council to request a resolution that urges Congress to pass a constitutional amendment that would overturn ‘Citizens United” and clarify that the First Amendment is for real people, not corporations. Please sign the this petition to our City Council:

  • Petition to Allow Live Street Music in Tarrytown's NY Business District
Tarrytown village code (Chapter 218-1) states that "No person shall participate in any parade, exhibition or the playing of musical instruments upon the streets of the village unless authorization has first been received by the Board of Trustees." A discussion of the matter has been relegated to a Board of Trustees work session. My goal here is to have a discussion with the village Board of Trustees to address this issue and show the support of signatures to allow live street music, aka sidewalk entertainers and artists, in our bustling business district.

  • PA Legislators: Give Voters a Chance
Since a PA photo ID is required for all voters, it is important for legislators to postpone the enforcement of this requirement to November 2013. It is essential that every possible voter be notified by mail, be provided the time to obtain the documentation, and be given a free photo ID. Non-drivers have a hard enough time getting to the polls, and this new requirement may interfere with their right to vote. Legislators need to give the voters a chance by extending the requirement to November 2013!

  • Recall Gov. Walker of Wisc.
Treat teachers with respect. At least, give them a reasonable interval of warning and adjustment before just axing all the benefits they have worked hard to get. The female occupations are especially getting targeted. Next, it will be the nurses.

  • doctors getting away with murder in flordia
I am writing to ask for your support to revise Malpractice Statue Chapter 766. This law does not help protect your constituents, because it does not hold bad doctors and other health workers accountable. This law also does not give family members a peace of mind nor justice if the decease person is an adult that is not married and does not have a child under the age of 26. I'm writing on behalf of my deceased mother, Christine Wright Thomas. On Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 6:37am, my siblings and I watched my mother lose her life in front of our eyes at her bedside. This was such a shock to her friends and family because her primary care physician Dr. Monica Walker and Columbia Hospital diagnosed her with a stomach virus and two days later she was dead. My mother did all she could have done to seek medical professional help. The medical system failed my mother and now she is dead because she did not receive the proper care and diagnosis. If we cannot get help from our doctors, where are we supposed to seek proper medical treatment? No one should have to suffer this long when they pursued medical help several times.

  • Recycling Takes Recycling Bins!!
Tired of taking your recyclables a mile away just to recycle them? Communities and Apartment complexes should provide recycling facilities on property if they provide Trash pick up. It shouldn't cost any more to recycle and it is important to do! Some cities charge for not recycling, this needs to be the norm everywhere!
