• Wisconsin Attorney General John B. Van Hollen Oppose Citizens United
Late last year, the Montana Supreme Court made the first crack in Citizens United by upholding a century-old state law banning direct corporate spending for or against candidates in state elections. Not long afterward, a right-wing group asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overrule that decision. Now, as the U.S. Supreme Court considers the case, the attorneys general from 22 states and D.C. have filed an amicus brief supporting Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock's bid to maintain limits on corporate spending in state elections. With nearly half of all states on board, this is the largest coordinated legal effort against Citizens United yet. Winning this lawsuit would immediately curtail the corrosive effect that unlimited corporate dollars are having on our democracy at the state level, and also be a major step toward overturning Citizens United nationwide.

  • Overturn Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project
Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project was a Supreme Court case dealing with the patriot act. It changed the definition of material support of terrorism. It used to mean supplying terrorists with weapons. The definition has been broadened to include things like service. Some are worried that this means giving terrorist organizations advice on how to peacefully resolve conflicts instead allows them to be charged with material support of terrorism.

  • Stop explicit men's sex drug advertising on TV.
Television advertising for sex drugs for men come on MSNBC so often, it makes me SO angry. The allesis especially is so graphic and disgusting especially if I have sat down to eat my dinner in front of the TV. AND I know how much it costs and where the money comes from, the poor people's terribly high prescription costs! The drug companies actually spend more money advertising than they do in research!

For years major federal subsidies have gone to big Ag (large corporate owned farms) and we need to support the small local farmers and ranchers so that they could supply their local population with healthy lean meat and fresh organically grown fruits and vegetables at a reasonable cost

  • Criminalize Excessive CEO Pay
Ronald Reagan allowed the CEO's to set their own pay scale and allowed them to be paid in stock. This has made it so CEO's who control the board's basically control their own pay. What we have seen is excessive CEO pay in the millions. The pay that they are getting is a new form of Embezzlement but it is openly accepted. Embezzlement laws should be used to put the CEO's in jail and to stop this fraudulent abuse of power.

  • Thank Bob Page at Replacements Ltd for Opposing Amendment 1
Replacements Ltd. of Greensboro, NC lost customers because it actively opposed the recently passed “Amendment 1.” Unfortunately, on May 8, 2012, NC voters enshrined bigotry and ignorance into its constitution with an amendment that defines marriage as between one man and one woman. Not one single Fortune 500 company headquartered in NC had the guts to publically oppose this discriminatory measure. Replacements, Ltd. did. Led by Founder and Chairman Bob Page, the company lobbied legislators, contacted other companies, contributed big money, and did much more in public view to fight the amendment. Replacements Ltd. even tried to recruit other companies to join it, but most were too afraid. Big name company support in other states has been instrumental in helping advance marriage equality efforts. Despite receiving multiple negative emails, calls, and letters from angry customers withdrawing their business, Bob Page does not regret this activism. He doesn’t want other gay kids to suffer as he did and especially wants to help prevent teen suicide.
