  • Repeal Defense Of Marriage Act
DOMA was put into place by Congress in 1996. The laws that are enforced by DOMA do not allow same sex couples to be legally married outside the seven states that support same sex marriage. It also doesnt allow their marriage to be recognized in other states. It also doesnt let joint taxes be filed and many other rights married couples have. By supporting the Respect for Marriage Act it will allow all marriages to be equal. All Americans deserve equality and supporting same sex marriage does not deminish anyone`s rights.

  • Instant Runoff Elections for Oregon!
Sign this petition to encourage our legislators to hold Instant Runoff Elections in Oregon! This means that if/when your first choice candidate does not win the popular vote, your vote automatcially goes to your next best choice. Instant Runoff Elections, if done correctly, would effectively eliminate the two party system giving new platforms an opportunity to be heard and supported. This will enable voters to vote with their full interests and take a more powerful role in our government. Sign your support, and share with your friends and family!

  • Angus King: Who Will You Choose to Lead the United States Senate?
The first and arguably most important vote Maine's new US Senator will cast will be to choose a leader. The leader of the senate sets the agenda and is the gate-keeper of all legislation, confirmations and committee assignments. Maine voters are entitled to know whether unenrolled candidate Angus King will vote for Democrat Harry Reid or Republican Mitch McConnell.
