  • Michigan DNR = Invasive Species
This DNR has declared that even safely retained pigs of small farmers are feral. They are to be killed. The owners are charged as felons. No heritage breeds are allowed, although preferred by many gourmet chefs as having better health and flavor over production pork. The result is that herds are being killed, citizens are being labeled as criminals by that most invasive species—the DNR. The Michigan Pork Producer Association pigs are magically alright. If left in the woods (as the killed pigs are NOT) the inbred pigs would be just as damaging as the alleged "feral" pigs had they actually been allowed to run wild. Tell the governor and the DNR to stop this unconstitutional attack immediately and pay restitution to those already attacked. This is a horrible and illegal "legal precedent" which may be used at you and your friends if this idiocy is not stopped. Other foreign species in Michigan which may invade? Dandelion, Ailanthus trees, cows, sheep, horses, goats, housecats, starlings, honeybees, Norway rats, whitetail deer where the woodland caribou used to live until over-logged by invasive white European settlers, and the list goes on. Why are these pigs targeted? Why did the Michigan Pork Producers Association encourage the Michigan state government to refuse any time to argue these assaults on American liberty? • Waiting for Justice
To require the Secretary of State to submit to Congress a report on efforts to bring to justice the Palestinian terrorists who killed John Branchizio, Mark Parson, and John Marin Linde. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, (1) On October 15, 2003, a convoy of clearly identified United States diplomatic vehicles was attacked by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza resulting in the deaths of John Branchizio, Mark Parson, and John Marin Linde, and the injury of a fourth American. (2) John Branchizio, Mark Parson, and John Marin Linde were contract employees providing security to United States diplomatic personnel who were visiting Gaza in order to identify potential Palestinian candidates for scholarships under the Fulbright Program. (3) Senior officials of the Palestinian Authority have stated that they were aware of the identities of the Palestinian terrorists who killed John Branchizio, Mark Parson, and John Marin Linde. (4) Following her visit to Israel and the West Bank on February 7, 2005, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced that she had been "assured by President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority's intention to bring justice to those who murdered three American personnel in the Gaza in 2003." (5) Since the bombing on October 15, 2003, United States Government personnel have been prohibited from all travel in Gaza. (7) The Palestinian terrorists who killed John Branchizio, Mark Parson, and John Marin Linde have still not been brought to justice. (1) the continued inability or unwillingness of the Palestinian Authority to actively and aggressively pursue the Palestinian terrorists who killed John Branchizio, Mark Parsons, and John Marin Linde and bring them to justice calls into question the Palestinian Authority's suitability as a partner for the United States in diplomatic efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict; (2) future United States assistance to the Palestinian Authority may be suspended or conditioned, and the continued operation of the PLO Representative Office in Washington may be jeopardized, if the Palestinian Authority does not fully and effectively cooperate in bringing to justice the Palestinian terrorists who killed John Branchizio, Mark Parson, and John Marin Linde; and (3) it is in the vital national security interest of the United States to safeguard, to the greatest extent possible consistent with their mission, United States diplomats and all embassy and consulate personnel, and to use the full power of the United States to bring to justice any individual or entity that threatens, jeopardizes, or harms them. (1) efforts by the United States to bring to justice the Palestinian terrorists who killed John Branchizio, Mark Parson, and John Marin Linde; (D) the degree of cooperation between the United States and the Palestinian Authority in regards to this case; (3) a specific assessment by the Secretary of whether the Palestinian efforts described in paragraph (2) constitute the best possible effort by the Palestinian Authority; and (4) any additional steps or initiatives requested or recommended by the United States that were not pursued by the Palestinian Authority.

  • Politicians need to pay taxes
Politicians should pay taxes and health insurance like all other Americans. They should not be eligible for pensions after they leave office unless they have been in office at least 20 years like our military personnel and other government officials. Why should the American people continue to pay into Social Security for a check that may not even be there when our own gov't officials do not?

  • Governor Malloy: Support Speaker Donovan's Minimum Wage Increase Bill
It's nearly impossible for a family of four to live on $17,160 a year, the current minimum wage for a full time worker, especially in a state like Connecticut with our high cost of living. Speaker of the House Chris Donovan is leading the fight to pass HB 5291, which would raise Connecticut's minimum wage to $9.25 per hour over a two-year period and index it to inflation. There is a big vote on Speaker Donovan's bill in the Appropriations Committee on Friday, and Governor Dan Malloy's strong public support is key. But the opponents of this bill, who represent big corporations, are pushing Gov. Malloy to oppose it.
