• Comcast: Stop Allowing "OnDemand Disabling Fast Forward"
One of the great joys of using OnDemand recorded shows used to be the ability to fast forward through advertising at will. Now Comcast is allowing more and more networks to disable the fast forward functions of Customers set top digital receivers.

  • Tell Congress Not To Gut Environmental Laws To Build New Highways
The US House, as part of its transportation bill, is preparing to gut our basic environmental laws to allow the construction of new highways and other projects. If you care about our last remaining wild places, please ask your Representative to oppose the environmentally damaging aspects of the bill, and sign this petition.

  • Tell Congress to support medical liability reform
This is urgently important. Not only do we, as patients, need to find a way to ensure "medicinal liability costs" don't cost us money, but we also need to make sure we can avoid losing our doctors (as well as our right to choose who we want to be seen by). H.R. 5 will help reduce the costs for health care (and the deficit will be reduced by this as well).

  • Why does Ann Romney have a Choice and I Don't?
Women and men should sign this petition, and we should make slogans and t-shirts declaring our right to choose. Instead of trying to take women back 50 years, Congress should be working tirelessly to pass all possible laws to help support a woman's right to choose. The Repubicans have the biggest double standards of all time. They fight tenaciously to , take away a woman's control over her own body, yet fight tenaciously to give total control to gun toters. Out of one side of their mouths they fight for their rights, and out of the other side, they take away someone elses.

  • Creating Civility
Everyone agrees that the discourse in the public square has gotten very acrimonious. Rather than waiting for our leaders to improve the atmosphere we as citizens should take personal responsibility to affect the change by pledging to communicate with others in a moderate and non threatening manner and avoid name calling histrionics. Operating like Pass It On each of us can be a voice for moderation !

  • Bring our Soldiers home!
I have not heard one comment in the news, from the White House or Congresss, about the Soldiers killed as retribution for the mistaken burning of the Koran. They were killed while training Afghani soldiers. I

  • Creating Civility
Everyone knows the dialogue in the public square has turned negative and acrimonious. Everyone expects better but is waiting for someone else to change things. This petition is a vehicle to engage our leaders and ourselves as citizens in taking responsibility for making change occur. By pledging to initiate and maintain a standard of fairness, moderation and reasonableness signers will be creating a visible commitment to action. Similar to the Pass It On movement all citizens and leaders will apply this standard to their interactions in matters of public policy and discourse.

  • Help Corpsman by creating a program to become an R.N.
Corpsman are given a comprehensive medical education. It is not worth much in the civilian world so they are only able to get a job as an aide or tech. They are not given the value and monies they should when leaving the service. They are able and do save lives and not just BCLS! Their education is far beyond the scope of a registered nurse. I am an RN with my BSN and MSN. I think there should be a college or two (three) that teaches Corpsman to RN. The professors might be previous Corpsman. At the very least it should be an accelerated program taking into account all they have learned with no need for repeat. Their are accelerated programs now for people with any type of Bachelor's to obtain eligibility to take the RN exam. We should give these talented individuals the opportunity to serve in the medical field. We know their is a shortage in the military for Nurses and this sure would help along with the need for civilian nurses. They should be guaranteed a spot in the program if they are in good military standing.

  • We say NO to US war against Iran
Many U.S. Congress people and others are calling for American firepower - rather than diplomacy and sanctions - to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. We support diplomacy with this country rather than war and we call on our elected officials to support our aim of peace with the Iranian people rather than war against Iran's leaders .

  • Chris Dudley training wage
Introduce an employment law regulating the hiring of new employees that require training. This would allow employers to hire at a lower wage to be increased incrementally to full wages as training is completed.

  • Make Congress take a pay cut
Since members of Congress refuse to reconcile their differences or to end the special privileges for special interests and the uber-rich, we mould require them to reduce their compensation to where it was in 2000, and freeze it there until the deficit is reduced and the budget is balanced. Since they expect the young, the old the poor and the middle class to shoulder the burdens blamed on the past 12 years of bipartisan administrations, they should all join us in the pain.
