• Politicians need to pay taxes
    Politicians should pay taxes and health insurance like all other Americans. They should not be eligible for pensions after they leave office unless they have been in office at least 20 years like our military personnel and other government officials. Why should the American people continue to pay into Social Security for a check that may not even be there when our own gov't officials do not?

  • Governor Malloy: Support Speaker Donovan's Minimum Wage Increase Bill
    It's nearly impossible for a family of four to live on $17,160 a year, the current minimum wage for a full time worker, especially in a state like Connecticut with our high cost of living. Speaker of the House Chris Donovan is leading the fight to pass HB 5291, which would raise Connecticut's minimum wage to $9.25 per hour over a two-year period and index it to inflation. There is a big vote on Speaker Donovan's bill in the Appropriations Committee on Friday, and Governor Dan Malloy's strong public support is key. But the opponents of this bill, who represent big corporations, are pushing Gov. Malloy to oppose it.

    I didnt know i owed at the time of loan ...i thought cuz i was on welfare as a single mom it was paid for..i did not have a ged or finished high school at the time of loan.They chared me 10,000 or more since the loan was taken in 1986... i cant pay all that back in 57years old and got laid off work 6mths ago. I filed paperwork 4years ago to help me and i never heard back from the government.

  • Lower the rent rates to match the economy!
    Rental properties continue to raise the rent while the economy is in such a poor state. Which means the big rental corporations are making millions of dollars while the "middle to lower class" people are struggling to keep a roof over their heads. I think its unjust and Obama should force rental properties to lower the rent to a amount where it's a third of the average income.

    The hate filled speech of Ted Neugent at the NRA show was totally unacceptable and abhorrent . There are too many people who are unstable and respond to these words as a call to action, as we have seen with Senator Gifford who was shot in the head over a year ago. This nation may have freedom of speech, but not to incite violence.
