Pink slime -- the ammonia-treated meat -- was recently rejected by fast food restaurants, e.g., McDonald's, Taco Bell & Burger King, but that is not stopping the USDA's plan on purchasing 7 million pounds for the nation's school lunch program! We can no longer put greed before people's lives! All of us deserve quality affordable health care without discrimination due to lack of finances, chronic illness, disability, age, sex, race, or religion. Veterans First! Doctors and hospitals held accountable for patients safety! Decisions made by Patients and Doctors not insurance CEO's! ! , orientation! Non profit orginizatipns not government should be involved in our health care or be allowed to invade our privacy! Our veterans need to be top priority! Patients & Dr's need to make decisions together not CEO's of HMO's. Our hospitals & clinics can no longer be run by corporations who make life and death decisions for patients! Dr's and hospitals need to be held accountabile for the care & safety of their patients!

We, the young people of the United States, wish to show our opposition to the detestable actions of the central African despot named Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army. Kony has committed atrocious crimes against humanity in central Africa. Kony and his forces have stolen children from their homes and families, militarized them, and forced them to wage war against their own parents and kinsman. We are calling for support against the kidnapping and murder of children in central Africa on behalf of children everywhere. This issue is of paramount importance to the young voting age and soon-to-be-voting-age population of the Untied States, and we wish to show our opposition in hopes that the government of the United States will take pertinent action to ensure Joseph Kony is brought to justice through the proper international channels.

Governor Bob McDonnell is considering signing two new laws that will take the vote away from thousands of Virginians. These laws are about one thing: preventing people of color, seniors, immigrants, and young people from voting. Senate Bill 1 requires that Virginians show extra and unnecessary forms of identification at the polls. Seniors, low-income Virginians, young people, and immigrant voters are the least likely to meet the new excessive ID requirements. Voters without the right ID have to fill out a “provisional ballot.” House Bill 63 lets political party elites gather behind closed doors to determine which provisional ballots to count and which to throw out. We're calling on Governor McDonnell to veto these bills today and protect democracy for all Virginians.

The United States sent 100 American troops into Uganda to aid the Ugandan army, with the conflict against Kony. He went into hiding , and is still number one on the ICC's internationally most wanted. 130,000 Italians just signed a petition calling for the Catholic churches in Italy to pay taxes on all properties they own to help cure it's financial ills. I propose that ALL churches here in America do the same: Close the tax loopholes that exempt ALL properties owned by churches!

South Carolina schools need all the money they can get so why waste any more money on SC ETV? The Governor and legislators have the power to completely close this wasteful and outdated state agency (and keep PBS which is easy) so why not vote TO CLOSE ETV this time?

Monsanto has plans to sell its new genetically engineered sweet corn seed for planting this spring, and even though this new crop is intended for human consumption and will likely be sold fresh off the cob, it has never been tested for human food safety. We would like Walmart to commit by April 1, 2012 to not sell Monsanto’s genetically engineered sweet corn variety in their stores. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and General Mills say they won't handle it. Walmart has made a pledge of sustainability, which does not support carrying GMO corn. 90% of all Americans want GMO foods labeled, because they don't want to eat them. We deserve the right to know what we are eating. Even China and Russia label GMO foods. Please refuse Monsanto's untested, unlabeled, and potentially unsafe sweet corn!
