• Florida right of recall
Currently we the citizens of Florida have no legal method to get rid of the government that is bankrupting us. Our present governor has a voter satisfaction rating that is lower than any other governor and a legislature that supports or even expands on his disastrous policies.

  • New amendment to the constitution
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure. Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. Congressional Reform Act of 2011 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time? THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS! If you agree, pass it on. If not, delete. You are one of my 20+ - Please keep it going, and thanks Congressional reforms, term limits, retstrictions on their pensions and privilieges that they have voted for themselfs

  • Abolish physical Restraints and 'Quiet Rooms' in all federally funded educational institutions.
A child with autism that cannot speak, like my 14 year old child, was recently raped by a paraprofessional, working for the Boston public school system, while alone with the student in a quit room. With all the advances in brain science I would hope that the professionals in the field of Special Educatiion can do better than physically restraining a child with an intellectual disability, or using a closet, box, boiler room or any other seperated space to address difficult behavior. Violence begets violence, no matter how you rationalize it.

  • Universal Health Care
The worst part is that I have health insurance. And it still costs me over $500 per month for co-pays, prescriptions and necessary lab work not covered by my insurance. Then there is the physical therapy and chiropractic care not covered by my insurance to help eliminate enough pain so that I can continue to work. Why are the "working poor" allowed to bleed to death?

  • Alabama Constitutional Reform
Alabama's outdated and hurtful constitution, written in 1901 to disenfranchise African Americans and poor white people, is one of the major roadblocks to equal justice and true reform in Alabama. It is the longest constitution in the world with over 800 amendments and still holds racist language and gives tremendous power to a small handful of people in Montgomery. Alabama voters deserve the right to vote for real reform through a constitutional convention. Until that happens, the most serious issues in our constitution remain off limits to reform.

  • No Cost Analog Meters
Smart meters are being rolled out despite being a class 2b carcinogen, causing heart arrhythmia, head ache, other health problems and invasion of privacy. Private military organizations and utilities were awarded 3.4 billion to implement smart meters and smart grid against peoples wishes and behind the false premise of "green". We should be able to choose if we want our privacy invaded and if we want to expose ourselves to carcinogens. This invades our Constitutional rights to privacy, liberty and life. NO MORE CANCER, NO MORE TRAMPLING ON OUR CONSITUTION!

  • David s law
Children with Cystic Fibrosis are required to take supplemental pancreatic enzymes before meals. These enzymes allow the student to digest food properly. Currently, the law states, each student must go to the nurse’s office, each day. The nurse than administers the medication to the student. This is a time consuming process, which takes forces the student to leave class early or miss part of the lunch hour. This inhibits the student’s ability to either learn or have adequate time to finish lunch. This is also becoming problematic, due to budget cuts in the schools. Some schools are eliminating full-time nurses, which would make it impossible for students to take their medication each day. Some schools have passed laws that allow students to carry medication such as over over-the-counter pain relief medications. The main impetus for the current restrictions is to insure the safety of the students by keeping controlled substances (such as prescription medications) out of the hallways and classrooms of the school. However, the danger of someone taking un-prescribed pancreatic enzymes is negligible. We believe students who have Cystic Fibrosis and require pancreatic enzymes before meals, with a Doctor’s note, should be able to carry and administer their own medication. If the student demonstrates understanding and compliance with the prescribed dosage, before the school nurse, the student should be free to carry and administer the medication. If you agree, please sign this petition and contact your lawmakers both state and federal, so David’s Law will become law as soon as possible. If you have any questions or want to help the cause, please contact David Wagner’s Cystic Fibrosis Hotline at 612-282-1211

  • Save the Wisconsin Retirement System
Scott Walker wants to radically alter the public employee pension system in Wisconsin (WRS). He will turn a 97% funded defined benefit system into a high risk defined contribution system, enabling his investment house buddies to cash in big while recipients lose the safety and security of one of the best retirement funds in the country!

  • Congressmen should have the same benefits as the masses,no special deals
Whatever Congress decides will be the healthcare for the nation, applies to members of Congress as well. What the masses pay in, Congress should pay in. In the cases of state and federal retirement programs, Congressmen should have to contribute the same as everyone else...no free rides. Their retirement pay should reflect a percentage of what they paid in...like state employees...no more; no less. This would save tax payers a lot of money, be more fair and reduce corruption in government.
