Reject the Oneonta Railyards GEIS as writtenI am starting this petition because as a city resident, I do not want the City of Oneonta to bring more fracked gas and “bomb trucks” through the city where I live. As written, the GEIS document will allow: * Development on a brownfield (contaminated soil) which could be a danger to surrounding neighborhoods. * Paving over wetlands which could cause toxic stormwater and flooding in the 6th Ward. * Massive energy requirements needing a decompressor to fuel the Railyards with Compressed Natural Gas transported in “bomb trucks” on local roads and through dangerous intersections. * Pollution from Heavy Industry including a garbage-burning or “fracked” gas power plant. * Constant truck traffic, noise, lights, odors, and toxic emissions. Instead, the GEIS should: Protect our property values and quality of life, protect our air quality and health, prevent flooding and protect wetlands, and focus on clean and renewable energy. *** City of Oneonta residents- if you feel comfortable, please mention your Ward in the comments area when you sign***106 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Betsy Holland

Did Your Senators and Member of the House of Representative Read the COMPLETE Mueller Report?Voters of the United States and its territories pay taxes to cover expenses of elected members of the House of Representatives and Senate. to included salaries, travel, offices, etc. After hearing from Special Counsel Mueller today, I believe he tried to encourage all Americans to be proactive to ask the individuals we pay to protect our country especially with as we will hold primary and general elections in calendar year 2020. All Americans - whether we vote or not - should hold our Senators and House Members responsible to spend our tax dollars wisely, read the entire report issued by Special Counsel Mueller and his staff, and act to protect our Constitution - not their political party or self-interests. I would appreciate a Congress that works collectively to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States," lead the world as a sound democratic nation, and leave a better country and world for future Americans. Has your House Member or Senator read the complete report? Has the candidate for any vacant seats in the House of Representatives read the entire report?68 of 100 SignaturesCreated by G. P.

Stop conversion of Saucon pool into dog shelter/police substation!Do not want a commercial structure in our historic park. The park has flooded, which would make it unsafe for the dogs. The barking dogs will disrupt the tranquility of the park setting and may stress the young children playing in the adjoining playground. The presence of a police station in a park setting may act as a deterrent for peaceful park patrons. The sight of multiple police cars in the park parking lot may cause a sense of stress and unwanted concern. We would like to see our green parks serve the community as an environment of nature and peace. Saucon Park is rich in history dating back 100 years. Please preserve the park history and find a more suitable place in an industrial area for this dog shelter/police station!23 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Olivia Funghini

Tell Congress: Coal Country Needs Good Green JobsCoal country needs good green jobs, not more empty promises. We are fighting for a cleaner, healthier, more sustainable future and as we transition to a clean energy economy, it's vital that we make investments that give a much-needed boost to hard-hit coal-impacted communities. The RECLAIM Act is an urgently-needed opportunity to spur job creation and local business investment through projects to clean up abandoned coal mines and restore wildlife habitats. This bill is a major opportunity for areas that have historically depended on the coal industry for good jobs and economic stability, to rebuild themselves by creating new, diverse economies on their own terms. Funds would be prioritized for projects in communities that are economically distressed and that have been impacted by coal industry job losses. Please join with us and urge your Member of Congress to cosponsor the bipartisan RECLAIM Act (H.R. 2156) now.6,250 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Matthew Hildreth, Rural Organizing

Mayor Breed: We Need Trees to Battle Climate Change! For nearly 5 decades San Francisco has woefully managed its urban forest and the results are in: we have the worst urban canopy of any major city in the U.S. Yet now, right after SF declared a climate emergency - and climate change is destroying our planet - the city has decided to ELIMINATE money for tree planting from its budget. Actions have consequences. We cannot continue to abuse our planet. We must do everything we can to leave this city and our world sustainable for generations to come.443 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Joshua Klipp

Help Keep Warwick Neck kids safe! Our Neighborhood over the past several years has had many delivery trucks take down our power lines to our homes, take out our trees, driving on our lawns to bypass opposite traffic, speeding, drag racing and throwing litter on our lawns. This needs to stop! We have asked to have speed bumps put in place and police presence. The cost of the police presence each day and the cost of the speed bumps eventually cost more in the end than actually having a road paved. This is one great reason as to why the City Of Warwick should take over the entrance to the club (Chatfield Street) and keep its taxpayers and their families safe! On Clifton Ave alone, there are 8 children who can't ride their bikes, play basketball, or even go for a walk because the traffic is out of control! I have spoken to Joe Noel on many occasions and he is willing to gift the road to the city. Let's sign this and get the correct street paved and taken over by the city! We pay enough in taxes to live in Warwick, let's be able to enjoy it at least!20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by erin

Preserve and Protect Wetlands and Natural Resource Areas in Massachusetts!Massachusetts is the only state with the Dover Amendment, which allows some non-profits to be exempt from local natural resource zoning and wetlands protections ordinances. It makes no sense that land owners undertaking real estate and construction projects should be exempt from local zoning rules that would restrict any other property owner from building in an environmentally sensitive area. Let's pass Amendment H.1765! This important legislation will help protect our ecosystems across the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts.1,368 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Christian Bauta

Save Our TreesIn 1987 some 42 acres of pristine forest land was generously donated to the Newton Falls Board of Education for "educational or public purposes" and for "the maximum enjoyment of the general public", according to the deed restrictions. However, to gain a mere pittance, the current Board auctioned off the trees on this public property to a small logging company not certified by the Ohio Forestry Association. A Temporary Restraining Order has prevented their destruction so far. All pleas and alternative means to save the trees have fallen on deaf ears. Perhaps this petition will not.82 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Werner Lange
