We are starting this petition because we don't want to lose this amazing teacher just because a few students disagree with her ways of teaching. Nobody is asking us to do this petition, we as students came together and agreed to do this petition because we don't want to lose another teacher in the Vocal Music Department. She has done much more than any other teacher will ever do for us.

As American minorities, we are directly endangered by hateful, violent white supremacy and neo-Nazis. The rise of these hate groups puts many American communities at risk of harm and encourages the continued marginalization of people of color, Jews, Muslims, the LGBTQ+ community, and others targeted by white supremacy.

On average, a child is shot every 2 days due to an unintentional discharge of a gun. Children under 17 have a higher risk of being shot or dying in a home with firearms. One third of all children whose parents own firearms live in homes where guns are not locked in safes. Even guns that have been dropped have discharged, maiming and killing kids. We have the technology to make guns safer. It is time we demanded that gun manufacturers make standard features on all weapons to prevent lethal accidents. Cars have seat belts and airbags. Guns should have load indicators, triggers that young children can't fire, serial numbers that can't be filed off and sensors that identify the person licensed to use the gun.

The Task Force on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in Minnesota as outlined in these bills examine will the systemic causes behind the violence that indigenous women and girls experience; collect data on violence against indigenous women and girls, including data on missing and murdered indigenous women and girls; and make recommendations for violence prevention. We call on all Minnesota legislators to pass these important bills.

Within 24 hours of tweeting, Representative Ilhan Omar apologized and noted the harm and pain of her word choice on the Jewish community. She used this moment choice as an opportunity to immediately learn from and deepen relationships with Jews and allies. In the Jewish tradition, we call this teshuvah, and it’s what a real leader does. Trump and the GOP have never done that — instead they have doubled down on their white nationalist, antisemitic, Islamophobic, and anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies that have put all of our communities in danger, including Jews. Our loved ones at Tree of Life Synagogue died as a direct result of Trump’s white nationalism and the anti-immigrant, antisemitic conspiracy theories he continues to use. Our Jewish community calls on Trump to resign, not Rep. Ilhan Omar. Trump doesn’t get to embrace white nationalism and say there are "very fine people on both sides" of a neo-Nazi rally and then turn around and attack a progressive Muslim woman of color leader to further his agenda. Shame on Trump for trying to distract the country from his immoral campaign to build a wall and detain and deport more of our immigrant loved ones. The Jewish community will not be fooled.
