• Menstrual Products
As students, faculty, and staff, we believe that we should be provided with free menstrual products at Chabot as we are majority low income students. Menstrual products are a basic need and we should not be met with the challenge to suffer through school without menstrual products or having to miss school due to having a menstrual cycle. We created this form to call attention to this basic need and make change in order to continue our education at Chabot without the concerning ourselves with having to choose between buy pads instead of a meal, missing school, or using toilet paper in place of menstrual products, etc.

  • Save compassionate cannabis!
THE SWEETLEAF COLLECTIVE NEEDS YOUR HELP Since 1996 the cannabis compassion program, Sweetleaf Collective, has provided free medical marijuana to low-income terminally ill patients in the Bay Area. With California’s new cannabis regulations, as of January 1st, 2018, The Sweetleaf Collective is no longer allowed to provide free medical cannabis to more than 150 terminally ill patients in the Bay Area. These patients do not have any other access to this life saving medicine. We are concerned because with their sensitive conditions, HIV/AIDS and cancer, some of them have died because they no longer have access to free cannabis. Sweetleaf is bringing together other compassion projects, cannabis farmers, dispensaries, and consumers to pass SB 34. This bill, when it becomes law, will eliminate all taxes on compassionate cannabis. A similar bill last year passed through California’s Assembly and Senate with a yes vote of nearly 90% only to be vetoed by the governor. We must pass it this year. Governor Newsom needs to sign this bill into law. “I don't think Jerry Brown thought when he signed that veto, that he was signing peoples' death sentences,” said Joe Airone, founder of the Sweet Leaf Collective in San Francisco. “Some of our patients now have to make a horrible decision: Do I buy cannabis or do I buy food?” Over 50 compassion programs that serve more than 10,000 Californians have been negatively affected by this change in the law. We are asking that you do three simple things: * first, please sign this petition to show your support for creating regulations for compassion programs, * secondly, tell our Governor that California needs to allow cannabis compassion programs to operate: California’s Governor Gavin Newsom Phone number: (916) 445-2841 * finally, and most importantly, share it via your social networks. California needs to create regulations for cannabis compassion programs so seriously ill patients can receive free cannabis. Thanks for supporting compassion. Together we can save lives. • MGRS District Turnover Concerns
This petition is to request that the Mount Greylock School Committee take immediate steps to effectively exercise its mandated supervisory role in evaluating and addressing the turnover of union and non-union personnel experienced at the district and school level since the current Superintendent was promoted to Assistant Superintendent in July of 2016. It cannot be that the School Committee views such turnover as routine, let alone indicative of effective and appropriate top-level leadership. We are concerned about the impact on our school community. Background: The list of non-union positions “vacated” includes - Custodial Supervisor at Lanesborough Elementary (Administrative Leave) - Administrative Assistant Lanesborough Elementary School - Principal Lanesborough Elementary School - Cafeteria Manager Mount Greylock - Maintenance/Facilities Director (out on leave) (District) - Interim Director of Pupil Services - Director of Pupil Services (out on leave) (District) - Compliance Monitoring Assistant/Pupil Services Coordinator (now "Team Leader") (District) - Bookkeeper/Business Assistant (District/Central Office) - Treasurer (District/Central Office) - Office Assistant (District/Central Office) - Administrative Assistant/HR Specialist (District/Central Office) - Administrative Assistant to Superintendent/HR (District/Central Office) - Business Manager (District/Central Office - Superintendent (District/Central Office) Please this in not a place for comments about anyones children or families. Thank you

  • Remove Mike Jankanish From Teaching At Wilson High
As an alumni of Wilson High School, I find an open racist working as a history teacher unacceptable for our city's children. Mr. Jankanish's recent op-ed in The News Tribune opposing a bill encouraging ethnic studies displays his racism for all to see. He should not be teaching in our schools. https://www.thenewstribune.com/opinion/article227315034.html?fbclid=IwAR3ab-_UjExQvKvQixR-KqF2yxWK5H5TJ9vw0Gr6kyy0m4mD0ekq1nC1Flg

  • Please Pass SB 124 Out of Committee
I want to put solar panels on my roof in Wichita but Westar would be allowed to charge me an unfair higher rate than everyone else. This new bill will prevent all electric companies from punishing people like me!

  • Bring American Sign Language to Averett
The school wants to become more included and diverse, which i think includes expanding our curriculum to include different types of foreign languages besides French and Spanish. Both myself and others would like the opportunity and option to take American Sign Language courses.

  • ABC - Fire Meghan McCain from The View
The American public is at one of the greatest crossroads in political history, we have reached a crucial moment where our democracy itself may be in crisis. Those who use their public platform as a bully pulpit for mendacity and deception do not have the right to incite the wounds this nation is trying desperately to heal.

  • Eliminate Daylight Savings in California
It’s a nightmare each year having to switch over to daylight savings time when we can easily keep standard time all year. Switching over means losing a whole hour of sleep, and I get up very early in the morning to go swimming. Daylight savings time does not save energy; nowadays, more and more people are getting up and leaving early in the morning for work.
