The current government shutdown is obscene and we need moral leaders to come forward to end it. We lost one of those moral voices - Sen. John McCain - and I am asking people to join me in pleading with Sen. McSally to take up the mantle of Sen. McCain.

This month, after a long and hard-fought campaign, New York became the latest state to adopt early voting -- allowing eligible voters to cast their ballot up to 9 days before Election Day. This simple, groundbreaking reform will make an enormous difference for New Yorkers. By expanding the state's voting period beyond a single day, early voting allows for more flexibility in the electoral process and helps people of all backgrounds participate in our democracy. 39 states have already adopted it, but some are lagging behind -- meaning voters across the country are being deprived of this vital accommodation. That's why it's time to take early voting nationwide. For the college student in Alabama who has to choose between going to class or casting a ballot… For the single mother in New Hampshire who can't swing the cost of additional childcare, especially if she expects to wait in line at her polling place for hours... And for any individual who wants a choice of when to make their voice heard in our democracy -- early voting is the solution. There’s no reason to delay this reform any longer. Congress must enact legislation to bring early voting to all 50 states -- and make our democracy more open and accessible to all.

My family and I live no more than six miles to the nearest town, Mexia, TX. Our house will contain three generations of family, my family, which has two college students including myself. My mom was offered a job with epic games, which is now on hold since we have Hughes Satellite Internet, which is not suitable for the job. We live a mile from old DSL internet, that they no longer carry. By doing this petition, we are hoping to bring internet to the area we live in.

If Washington does not reach an agreement, the government will once again go into shutdown. We need a REFERENDUM!

This petition is being started for equality. It is not fair to the everyday Government worker to not get paid but Congress and the President still receive pay during the Government shut down. If the American people have to work without pay so should ALL members of the Government. We the people refuse to pay the salary of Congress and the President EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

Attorneys appearing at the 606 S. Olive Immigration Court in Los Angeles are regularly being forced to wait outside in long lines with the general public rather than allowing them the professional courtesy of early entry into the building an/or front of the line privileges.

Ruben Kihuen pushed women on his staff to have sex with him. He touched them inappropriately. He kept asking and asking. He demanded sexual favors from women who talked to him because his vote affected their lives and jobs. No matter how many times these women said no, he kept asking and asking, in more and more inappropriate ways. I've been a community activist in Las Vegas for many years. I supported Ruben when he ran for state legislature, and worked hard to elect him to Congress. When we sent Ruben to Carson City and then Washington, he was supposed to use the power we gave him to move our country forward. Instead, he's coming home in disgrace after using his position to sexually harass women who worked for him and with him. Apparently, he doesn't think much of Las Vegas voters, because he's planning to run again. Currently, membership in Charlotte and Mecklenburg boards and commissions are limited to "registered voters". This means that to officially be a member of these commissions, you must have the right to vote. This is an exclusive policy that denies a voice to many in Charlotte and Mecklenburg. When non-voters are left out, they are excluded from the democratic process and their voice are lost. In many cases, these are people who are not allowed to or are ineligible to vote for reasons such as age, national origin, and parole status. This coming week, the Charlotte City Council will be reviewing and possibly voting to change this policy. Please sign the petition and encourage them to change it.

We need to raise our voices about the mistakes the Reagan administration created, and correct them by contacting our congresspeople. The maltreatment of non-violent criminals needs to end, and they needed to be served time on an individual basis.

The estimated deadline to reverse climate change by 2030 is more important and crucial than ever, and is testing the propensity of the globe.

We have recently learned of a major change to our local interstate exchange that will affect not only local citizens but the local businesses as well. We feel that this is a "quick fix" in the eyes of the state department of transportation but they neglected to completely weigh out all other options. The proposed plans are not within reason when considering all aspects of the community as a whole. We would sincerely appreciate your support in the matter. Every signature counts!
