  • Disability grandfather clause
New disability back pay law put into effect a few years ago. People who have been applying for disability for 7+ years are now being told .If you are put on disability you no longer get the back pay you should. New law put into effect about 4 years ago states you only will receive 3 years back pay. There should be a grandfather clause in effect. As of new law and new people applying for disability then that law should apply. Not for people who have been strung along by the system and punished and now take what is ours away from us. I believe ridiculous and completely unacceptable. I cannot believe that the government for the persons in charge of this new law put into place did not have enough sense to put a Grandfather Clause in there for people who have been waiting for 6 to 10 years. I myself have been waiting for 8+ years. For me to recently find out that I lost has been put into effect that anyone Weatherby someone that's been applying for a year or 10 years will only be able to receive a Max of 3 years of back pay of the disability money that they and we have worked for. We deserve every penny of what we put into it. And I personally spoke to someone in the Federal Department that take care of our Senators. Flat out stated that it's because the state of Missouri does not want to pay the people they Monies. Don't try and come back and say all that person didn't say that because they did and I've worked for this person off and on with my case for disability for a few years and I know they are not lying. I'm not asking for anything other than what is mine what I worked for my sweat my lack of sleep the hard work that I put into it and now for you guys to have just take it upon yourself to put a law into place and I just happened to stumble across it. Whomever you people are that voted or discussed how you were going to affect or skim the money from certain areas or whatever and however you went about it for it to affect us people who are filing for disability should be ashamed of yourselves but I know that you're not you sleep like babies and I know it. It's unfortunate that you will probably never be on this side of the fence and have to deal with people such as yourselves making the decisions for us the little guys The Americans the ones making it happen out here in the world doing all the Dirty Work. And that's it thank you that we get. You guys need to reevaluate this law that you passed. I truly believe that there needs to be he disability Grandfather Clause that anybody that had applied for disability before the new law was put into effect within the last 4 years that this new law does not apply to them. I know there are several of us out there in the same situation. And we are not going down without a fight. So I will be the first one to send this out and I will pray that it spreads like wildfire and that we will have many many many people sign this petition and sent into you guys and hopefully something will be done. But whoever handles these petitions will do the right thing and make sure the right thing comes out of this. So everyone out there that's in the same position that I am or similar please help me help you send this out to everyone you know and every social media application that you use and have their friends sign it and their friends sign it and so forth and so on. Time is of the essence so let's get to work!

  • Stop Hate Crimes Against LGBT American, African Americans, and the Female Gender Citizens' Rights
Stop Hate Crimes Against LGBT American, African Americans, and the Female Gender Citizens' Rights. Also to have the NYPD to enforce such laws as soon as possible. Because if NYPD serves as an example, then other cities and states shall too. There are far too many discriminations towards the LGBTQ, People Of Color, and women who experience such behavior in 2018. We would like to seek change before 2018's Thanksgiving Holiday.

  • Justice for Dr. Ford
I know whereof I speak. My husband was a beligerent drunk. For years he traumatized our family until I finally got the courage to challenge him. Even then it took several years to complete my divorce. The damage he did to both me and my children was extensive. Don't let that happen to the Supreme Court!

  • Shame on you, Senator Grassley
Women have come forward to attest that Brett Kavanaugh has committed CRIMES against them. Instead of investigating, you and your staff have trivialized their claims and shamed these victims – who dared to speak out about his sexual misconduct – and are dragging them through the gutter. In the past, your Iowa values would never have tolerated such conduct ... but now you have become part of what's wrong in Washington, willing to let the end justify the means. You have lost your Iowa values. You destroy your legacy.

  • Thank You for Your Bravery Dr. Christine Blasey Ford
I want Dr. Christine Blasey Ford to know she is not alone. I want to let her know that we stand with her and commend her for her courage by choosing to put her civic duty before her personal wellbeing and safety. By doing so, we also seek to empower survivors of sexual assault who want to come forward but are afraid to do so.

  • Clean Up Neponset Reservoir
Heavy metals, such as cadmium, continue to exist in the sediment of the Reservoir and pose a “significant risk” to public welfare and the condition of the Reservoir as a whole because it impacts property uses, represents degradation of public resources, has significant negative community effects and is a nuisance condition, as stated by environmental consultants and Professional Wetlands Scientists hired by NRRC. Environmental cleanup would improve a beloved town resource by decreasing the amount of metals, prevent increasing shallowness via sedimentation and bring good jobs to the area through environmental cleanup companies. It is a win-win-win for Schneider Electric, the Town of Foxborough and the natural resources and aquatic life that surround, and are part of, the Neponset Reservoir.

  • Truth In Congress Petition
With the circus the Democrats are pushing forward over the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, it's well past time that We the People find out how many of them are "dirty." We all know that $17 million of taxpayers' funds were paid out to women who have accused congress members of sexual assault, but they were all conveniently silenced, instead of letting them have their voice, their time in court. It's time for President Trump to release the names of those congress members, as well as the dates of the incidents and the names of their accusers - completely unredacted.

  • No burning LGBT flags on Facebook
I am sick and tired of Facebook catering to bigotry and whenever I see a burning rainbow flag picture, I report it and when it does not get censored, it makes me question whether Facebook is actually upholding its standards and policing hate speech, or if Facebook is becoming a two-faced, hypocritical organization...

  • Remove Sheriff Driscoll from Office
Time and time again, Sheriff Driscoll has shown that he will choose to enforce racist laws that tear apart our communities. When met with community demands that he stop deporting our communities, adopt an official policy of non-cooperation with ICE, and release all records of the County’s cooperation with ICE, Sheriff Driscoll’s only response was to deny these possibilities and shrug off his responsibility to Flagstaff families. He stated, “I took an oath of office to enforce the law, not to modify it”.

  • Governor Cooper: We Demand An Immediate Moratorium on Factory Farms!
An epic catastrophe is now unfolding in North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Florence. Mass environmental devastation and tragic loss of millions of farmed animals and wildlife have been intentionally sacrificed to protect profits for BigMeat Corporations that operate in the state. On behalf of industry lobbyists, state legislators have gutted laws that protect animals and the environment from cruelty and neglect by BigMeat corporations. Contract farmers for BigMeat Corporations are allowed to abandon farmed animals to natural disasters such as the massive flooding caused by hurricane Florence. In 2010, North Carolina actually banned state officials from taking into account the escalating impacts of climate change in its coastal management strategy. State legislators have also excluded farmed animals from state animal welfare laws- so farmers can mistreat, neglect or abandon farmed animals with near full impunity. State legislators have also protected BigMeat Corporations from environmental regulations. Factory farms are the leading source of groundwater and air pollution and devastation to wildlife in the state. Toxic sewage loaded with bacteria like E. coli and heavy metals impacts homes, schools and churches in the region. Over the past two years, 23 law suits have been filed by over 500 residents whose health has been affected by chronic exposure to toxic pollution by factory farms. In response, state legislators have put a cap on damages that can be awarded to citizens suffering from corporate polluters, and expanded laws to make it harder for citizens to sue BigMeat corporations. State legislators in North Carolina have consistently favored BigMeat polluters over the health and welfare of its citizens and the protection of local environment and wildlife. As a result of this corporate protectionism by state legislators, foreign countries like China outsource their meat production to NC, because it’s up to 50% cheaper to factory-farm animals in the state due to loose environmental and humane regulations by state legislators. In the wake of destruction by Hurricane Florence, Governor Cooper has an unprecedented opportunity to make a stand for democratic justice and create a model of democratic reform against corporate cronyism. Please sign this petition and urge Governor Cooper to commission an independent inquiry on the full economic impacts to citizens’ health, the pollution of environment and wildlife, and the unregulated cruelty to farmed animals by BigMeat corporations in North Carolina.
