• West Virginia Board of Education Stop Abuse by Teachers
I know a family who has personally been affected by this. And many other families who are not aware of what has happened to their preschool and older children in these state run schools. The terror that these children feel when locked in a small space, screaming and begging to be let out, has left a long-lasting trauma that will be difficult to overcome. in their lives, they will feel fear of small spaces, people of authority, and generally fear of people and institutions. How can the Board of Education let these people continue to abuse our young, impressionable children in this way? Schools are supposed to be a safe haven, teachers are supposed to use their education and knowledge of children to provide them with the best education available. Not to abuse children who are too young to understand how their behaviors may be harmful to others. Not to lock these troubled children in bathrooms and other small spaces because, as teachers, they don't want the hassle of taking care of our most vulnerable and difficult children. Stand up to bullies in our school system that perpetuate this abuse, those that call out children in front of their peers, those that cannot handle the stresses of being a teacher, or that just don't care about our children and their futures. Bullying and abuse are not acceptable from our children, and they are punished for bullying. Why, then, are the teachers and school administrators not punished for violating that rule?

  • Tell the owners of Wells Blue Bunny to stop supporting Steve King
Steve King is a bigot. Has had a Confederate flag on his desk and often retweets Klansmen and other racists who don't represent the values of northwest Iowa., and the owners of Wells Blue Bunny ice cream keep dominating to Steve King which tells me the Wells' are content with King's bigotry and racism. Tell the Wells to stop supporting bigotry.

  • Legalize Medical Cannabis at National level
We need our President and elected officials to not only hear our voices but take action by changing existing laws and enacting new laws to benefit the people who need it to maintain their quality of life physically and mentally. Cannabis helped me win my battle with opioid addiction and I've spoken with many average people like me who are benefiting from legal medical cannabis but there are thousands more who can benefit but don't because of existing laws. Our veterans, our elderly and our children will reap the benefits of legalization of medical marijuana.

  • Vaccine disclosure forms
I believe parents have a right to be informed about all possible sideeffects and ingredients in vaccines before a child is injected. A concent form/disclosure should be available listing all ingredients and side effects for each individual vaccine that is administered to a child at a well care visit. If you agree please sign my petition!!!

  • Preserve Thousand Oaks Masterplan!
We the undersigned community members formerly request of the Thousand Oaks City Council that such a drastic change should have either an attitude survey or a ballot measure to let the residents decide. And prior to the citizen’s involvement there should be town hall meetings so the public can be well aware of all the implications.

  • Petition to Change TSP hardship rules from Active Employees to Active and Retired Employees
For federal employee retirees who are victims of a natural disaster or other hardship, and are prohibited from hardship withdrawals from their TSP because of current regulations. I and my family are victims of Hurricane Florence and have been rejected for FEMA aid, and a government SBA loan would only add to my current debt situation. I am a retired veteran.

  • Women Step up
We had the women's March, but what do we do next? They're laughing at us now, so let's make a plan to shut them down and limit their options to step on our Constitutional Rights.

  • Fight for a New Progressive Revolution!
The government has been funded by big corporation and the NRA to be their puppet, and the working class like my family get nothing in return. Restoring our democracy should be protected, and our Constitution should be our goal and defeat those who opposes it. We must change America for the greater good.

  • Brian Kemp MUST RESIGN as Secretary of State of Georgia
Kemp should not be allowed to oversee the election board while he is running for governor's office. Kemp refused help to protect the voting machines in Georgia that were hacked by Russia. Kemp purged over 1 million voters so it could not be investigated. Kemp is holding 53,000 voter applications for exact match without notifying applicants. Kemp is blatantly suppressing the vote in his role as Secretary of State. If Kemp wants the appearance of a fair Election, he must be forced to resign or withdraw from the governor's race.

  • City of Valparaiso: Say NO to Annexation and Rezoning of 309 Spectacle Drive
The suburban area of Valparaiso and lakeside residents of Porter County will be negatively affected by the annexation and rezoning of Kilmer Property located at 309 Spectacle Drive. The Kilmer’s are seeking annexation (Petition Number A18-001 and RZ18-001) for the purpose of using Valparaiso utilities and services in addition to General Residential rezoning. The General Residential zoning would allow high density development with a building plan of 40 single-family residential lots with a minimum lot size of 6,000 sq. ft. This development would affect the character of our neighborhoods and the health of our lakes. The property is located across the road from Rogers Lakewood Park which borders Loomis and Spectacle Lake with overflow into Flint Lake. The property is the last, large acre old-growth forest located South of Loomis Lake and is critical for sustaining complex ecosystems and wildlife habitats. Trees play an important role in regulating water flow, trapping sedimentation, air quality purification and mitigation of climate change. Deforestation and land development will increase erosion and water draining issues affecting many of the nearby residents including those surrounding our lake systems. Spectacle Drive is an old, undulating, narrow county road that is distressed and in need of reconstruction. The addition of 40+ lots could potentially increase traffic on Spectacle by 380 vehicles per day placing travelers in harm’s way. The request to annex this property to the city and change the future zoning land requirements is not compatible with the surrounding properties or to the neighborhood. An annexation of the Kilmer’s property into the City would ruin the character of our quiet neighborhoods.
