• Human trafficking
Your community and your kids are at risk. Sexual human trafficking is a growing problem in the United States, in every state. That’s why we need a single federal office responsible for coordinating this fight across the entire government. With leadership from the President and Congress, we can and will win this fight against those that exploit children for sex.

  • Establish Public Broadband in Cities in New Mexico
Municipal high-speed broadband has energized municipal areas such a Chattanooga. Albuquerque was on the verge of developing this resource when Comcast backed Mayor Berry and all efforts were cancelled. Establishing speeds of gigabit and 100 gigabit speeds has helped to revitalize the economies that have adopted it around the world. We need to develop this in Albuquerque.

  • Stop deportation of military spouses
Almost 12,000 spouses of active duty, reserve, and veteran military personnel are currently in deportation proceedings. Many of them have U.S. citizen children. We should not be tearing these families apart. H.R. 5593, the Patriot Spouses Protection Act, recently introduced in the House of Representatives, would enable these families to stay together.

  • Custody Rights For Grandparents
I am the mother of a heroine addict and my grandchildren have been removed by Child Services four times. On the third occasion, I actually went to an attorney in an attempt to gain custody of my grandchildren. I was informed that grandparents in the State of Florida have no rights when it comes to gaining custody. I have just discovered that this fourth time, the Broward County Courts are going to allow reunification again! How long does my grandchildren and other grandchildren like mine have to suffer? There has to be a law put in place to allow grandparents to petition the court for custody after the children have been removed from their parents several times.

  • Revitalize Queens Village’s Businesses
I moved to Queens Village in 1974. Initially, the community had many businesses that thrived. There was the Community movie theater, butcher shop, gas station, Woolworth's, Super Discount, and many small businesses like hardware stores and auto parts stores. While many of these small "mom and pop" stores have been replaced by businesses like Riteaid and Duane Reade, a good number of businesses closed up shop, only to be replaced by some businesses that keep inconsistent hours or a provides goods and/or services that are not practical to a significant percentage of the community. Furthermore, many of these businesses are an eyesore—window fronts poorly identified, products strewn haphazardly about, etc.—-particularly along Hempstead Avenue (Jamaica Avenue to the Elmont border). Queens Village residents living in the immediate vicinity of the aforementioned businesses along Hempstead Avenue, would like to see a variety of new practical businesses: a bank, a Staples, stores like Starbucks and Pandora, a supermarket, a FedEx Office, and many more businesses, which can be easily accessed by foot or car. The residents of Queens Village should not have to travel outside of our neighborhood to buy the things we need. By bringing in new businesses, ones that are practical, we can better the community’s quality of life, as well as revitalize the neighborhood and give the residents what they deserve.

  • Save the White Plains YMCA !
Selling the YMCA building on Mamaroneck Avenue will deprive us all of a vital resource for community health and well-being. The proposed non-facility model is an utterly inadequate substitute for the YMCA as it stands. We need the YMCA to live up to its posted slogan, "Always here for our community." This sale should be stopped.

  • Stop the Carnage!
Americans have become disenfranchised from protecting the children of our great nation and it’s time for everyone to stand up and stop the carnage! I have never had children but I vigorously support the right of our children to wake up and go to a safe school and learn without fear or trepidation!

  • LAPD Must Rescind Predictive Policing programs PredPol and Operation LASER Immediately!
To be delivered to the Los Angeles Police Commissioners and the Inspector General (listed above): Angelenos demand that the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) immediately rescind its Predicting Policing programs. Consisting of a location-based tactic called PredPol and a person-based, location-based tactic called Operation LASER (Los Angeles Strategic Extraction and Restoration), these programs are targeting and criminalizing our communities resulting in the harassment, displacement, evictions, and possibly even the death of our community members. Anchored in the war on terror, the architects of PredPol and Operation LASER are engaged in massive amounts of data collection and surveillance using pseudo-science to trace, track, monitor, stalk, criminalize, and target communities. Predictive Policing policing programs are continuing to expand nationwide and need to be dismantled. Predictive Policing in Los Angeles - PredPol guesses about future crimes and uses algorithms to create 500 X 500 ft hotspots in neighborhoods, essentially pathologizing whole communities and saturating these communities with police who presume crime will occur. - Predpol is based on historic crime data that is rife with bias. This creates a feedback loop that amplifies the targeting of communities that have always been targeted by police. - Another example of pseudo-science that drives PredPol is the claim by one of the the creators of Predpol - Jeff Brantingham, professor of anthropology at UCLA, who compares “criminal offenders with hunter-gatherers,” and states that “the behaviors a hunter-gatherer uses to choose a wildebeest versus a gazelle are the same calculations a criminal uses to choose a Honda versus a Lexus.” - The creators of Operation LASER claim the program to be analogous to medical surgery, with the basic premise of targeting individuals with laser-like precision in the community, similar to how “a medical doctor uses modern technology to remove tumors.” - LASER is a person-based predictive policing program in which individual community members who may have had previous contact with the law enforcement are presumed to be criminal. - A Chronic Offender Bulletin, similar to a most wanted poster, is issued about the person. There is no way to contest the Bulletin which ultimately results in the creation of another secret list. - LASER also creates LASER Zones where homes, business, and buildings are deemed criminal and LAPD "intervenes" by evicting and serving abatement notices to people and their families, effectively displacing them and making it impossible to rent again.

  • Introduce a Net Neutrality Law for Oklahoma
When the FCC announced that net neutrality would be repealed, it it was done so in an unethical manner by use of stolen and/or fake identities and corporate meddling. Our representatives however, on the FCC's side citing that "it will create more jobs", in reality it would actually cost us millions of the jobs we created on the internet. Net Neutrality must be preserved.

  • Let's Pass Firearms Insurance Now
I'm tired of thoughts and prayers. I'm tired of inaction. I'm tired of seeing children murdered. I'm tired of seeing my neighbors murdered at movie theaters and concerts. I'm from a military family and know about responsible use and ownership of guns. Let's change this.
