• REPARATIONS FOR BLACKS IN AMERICA
The People's New Black Panther Party are tired of the abuse to our brothers and sisters by the hands of the government, police officers, and white America. We have been systematically held down for years, robbed, beaten, and murdered. Our ancestors suffrered horrendous acts by the hands of America and still have not received what is due to them. Blacks can never advance because America's foot is on our necks. We are seeking reparations for ourselves and on behalf of our ancestors.

  • REACH (Reach Every Mother and Child) Act
Through investments in development and improving health, the number of children who die each year before age five has halved since 1990. The REACH Act will continue this trend to help end preventable child and maternal deaths worldwide, by initiating a more efficient allocation of funds.

  • Shut down John Bolton and Trump's war agenda
We all know that John Bolton is a terrible dangerous choice for national security adviser. But the Senate doesn't get to confirm that role. It does, however, confirm secretary of state for which Trump has nominated someone even more dangerous: Mike Pompeo. Pompeo is a climate change denier. He's anti gay rights. He wants to rip up our diplomatic deals. He's defended the use of torture. If fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was the fire extinguisher that kept the Trump flame from engulfing us all, then Pompeo is the fuel that would make the Trump bonfire go out of control. He cannot represent us to the world. We can't stop Trump from appointing John Bolton—a man who pushed for the devastating Iraq War and who recently wrote the case for war with North Korea—as national security adviser. So our only chance to prevent Trump from assembling a war cabinet that would push us to war with Iran and North Korea and risk of ruining relationships around the world is to block Pompeo. Senator Rand Paul has said he won't support Pompeo—now if every Democratic and Independent senator does the same, we can say no to this bigot and no to Trump's reckless march to war.

  • Senators: Block Trump's War Cabinet
Donald Trump is marching us toward war—or multiple wars—if his latest nominees and appointees are and indication. Mike Pompeo, Trump's pick to run the State Department, opposes diplomatic agreements, supports torture, and has publicly spoken about the war "between the Christian West and the Muslim East" and received the top award from a known anti-muslim hate group. We cannot trust him to run the U.S. State Department. Gina Haspel has defended the CIA use of torture. We cannot trust her to run the CIA. John Bolton has a history of bad decisions that have contributed to massive loss of life. He was a booster for the Iraq War. More recently, he penned an op-ed on the case for war with North Korea. He just can't be trusted at all. Trump pushed out his secretary of state and national security adviser who had helped restrain Trump's desire for war. His new appointees would be far worse—putting us all at risk. As a first step to blocking a reckless war cabinet, and preventing unnecessary and costly wars: The Senate and must reject Pompeo's nomination as Secretary of State.

  • Save the Iran Nuclear Deal, Vote No on Pompeo
Senators need to vote NO on Mike Pompeo's nomination to send a clear message: We support diplomacy, not senseless and endless wars. The landmark Iran Nuclear Deal has been in place since 2015. Under the agreement, Iran can not get nuclear weapons, and in return the US and European allies agreed to lift economic sanctions. The International Atomic Energy Agency has reported 9 times that Iran remains in compliance with the deal, and our top generals continue to report to Congress that the deal is working. Yet Trump fired the current Secretary of State Rex Tillerson over Tillerson's support of the nuclear deal. This is in defiance with our best interests and our security. Senators must block this escalation to war from Trump by voting NO on Mike Pompeo's nomination.

  • Say YES to recess in AZ k-5 Schools
We are seeking community support for SB1083. If signed into law, this would require all K-5 schools in AZ to allow children two 15 minute recess periods per day. Many schools provided this at some point, but have since removed most or all recess from their daily schedules. Recess and unstructured play improve cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development; these are the foundations for "whole healthy children." Recess has been proven to significantly decrease anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorders, childhood obesity, diabetes and heart disease in youth. Sign our petition and tell your senators, representatives, and Governor Ducey, the time to take action is now! Restore recess for Arizona's kids!

  • SUPPORT FAMILIES IN MULTIEMPLOYER PENSION PLANS
We, the undersigned, members and retirees of Teamsters Joint Council 42 participating in the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust Fund (WCTPT) urge you to oppose the Give Retirement Options to Workers (GROW) Act (H.R. 4997). This legislation weakens the entire multiemployer pension system, putting our retirement security, and that of millions of other Americans, at risk. WCTPT is the largest and most successful multiemployer defined benefit pension plan in the nation. WCTPT provides retirement security to over 600,000 families in all 50 states and nearly every congressional district. We rely on the WCTPT and the current multiemployer pension system as critical components to support the financial well-being of our families. The GROW Act would change the rules for multiemployer pension plans in a way that weakens the system as a whole and threatens our retirement security: • First, the bill would drain contributions from existing multiemployer plans to fund new composite plans—setting up both plans for failure and putting our retirement benefits at risk. • Second, the bill would permit draconian cuts to workers’ promised benefits and subject retirees to devastating cuts to their pensions. • Third, the GROW Act would make it easier for employers to withdraw from pension plans without paying their fair share of the plan’s liabilities. • Fourth, the bill undermines the solvency of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) because composite plans would be exempt from paying premiums, despite creating significant new liabilities for the PBGC due to the plan failures that would result from weakening plan funding. • Finally, under the GROW Act, workers lose the safety net of PBGC insurance coverage and face the prospect of total benefit loss in the event of a plan failure. We strongly urge you to oppose the GROW Act and to instead support efforts to sustain and strengthen the multiemployer pension system in a way that protects the retirement security of millions of American workers and retirees, including those of us who depend on a healthy WCTPT for our financial future.

  • Tell the Senate: Block Pompeo
Donald Trump just named Iraq War architect John Bolton as his National Security Advisor and Islamophobic war hawk Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State. There's no question: Trump is building a war cabinet. But Mike Pompeo needs to clear a Senate confirmation vote before he can take the reins of the State Department. Bolton’s shockwave appointment as National Security Advisor gives us an opening to convince senators that Pompeo is a five-alarm nominee — but we’ve got to move fast. Add your name and urge the Senate to vote no on Pompeo.

  • General Practice isn't Enough!
General medical practice that only covers minor emergencies on campus is not enough for residents of the University. The institution should provide specialized care or discounted rates to off-campus clinics for their registered full-time students.

  • Get Scott Pruitt Out of the EPA
Pruitt has worked to derail more environmental safeguards in a shorter period of time than ever before in EPA’s 47-year history—all while spending close to $43,000 of taxpayer money to ensure nobody at EPA overhears his conversation with the President or the oil and gas industry executive he routinely hosts in his office. It's time to get him out of the EPA.

  • CNN: Pennsylvania Fired Rick Santorum; You Should, Too.
