I am a caretaker for a patient-advocate who has had ME for most of her life and who works from bed. Right now, her California ME/CFS specialist wants her to start IVIG and Rituxan, but because every physician in Washington State has been taught that ME is psychogenic in nature, she cannot get the help necessary to save her life. She is having severe autonomic problems and demyelination, but no one will serve her. This happens everywhere in the world and on average, I hear of about five to seven deaths a week from ME.

WE are creating this petition to take politics out of the use of the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center. UDPAC should not be a partisan institution. We the undersigned, ask that the permits for use exclude use by a singular political party for meetings or conventions that do not include all residents.

A State agency hosts five gun shows every year in the San Francisco Bay Area. The gun shows take place at the Cow Palace Arena and Event Center, which is owned and managed by a division of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Each show features hundreds of tables where firearms are bought, sold, and traded, with free admission for children under 12. It is time for the Cow Palace to stop hosting gun shows. No State agency should promote and profit from the proliferation of firearms. The US has more firearms than people—millions more. Our horrific gun violence rates reflect those numbers. The US gun homicide rate is more than 25 times higher than that of any other high-income country. Guns kill nearly 100 Americans daily and injure twice as many more. More than 730 children and teens were killed or injured by guns between January 1st and the recent March for Our Lives. The Cow Palace’s local communities strongly oppose gun shows on public property. San Francisco and San Mateo counties, which border the Cow Palace, have passed unanimous resolutions specifically opposing gun shows at that venue. Six Bay Area counties—Alameda, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Sonoma—have passed laws banning possession of firearms, and therefore gun shows, on county-owned property. Those official policies have been amplified by the tens of thousands of Bay Area youth and adults who recently marched and rallied to protest gun violence and demand solutions. But because the Cow Palace is owned by the State, it is immune from local control. The Cow Palace Board of Directors decides what events are held there. The Board members are state officers and must consider factors beyond maximizing revenue (although even profit-centered businesses have recently changed their policies regarding firearm sales and partnering with the NRA). The Board should listen to the local communities and stop hosting gun shows. Sign this petition to tell the Cow Palace Board of Directors you don’t want a state agency to promote and profit from the sale of guns and ammunition. Tell the Board to stop renting out the Cow Palace to gun shows. This petition will be presented to the Cow Palace Board of Directors at a future board meeting.

Since its epoch, Florida has branded itself as a place of healing, regeneration and diversion through its natural beauty and surroundings. Now, Florida is at risk of losing everything it stands for if it allows House Bill 631 to go any further. Further privatization of Florida beaches under the new law, restricting public access at the discretion of private residences, hotels and other businesses, desecrates the public's right to enjoy our most iconic resource. Anyone who knows me knows that my furbaby Mabel is the love of my life and my reason for living. My mother has decided to be a horrible person and hold her hostage from me regardless of offering money, pleading, and begging for her to live with me. She knows full well that I have hand-raised Mabel since her first few weeks, feeding her, burping her, stimulating her bowel movements, and staying up all night with her and loving and cherishing her. My mother claims that I am not able to properly take care of her because "I don't have a real job or place to live," but I work in an animal clinic where I get free procedures and vaccines done and good pay, and I do have a place to live and I will soon be moving closer to work with my friends. The only reason my mother wants to keep her is out of spite and complete selfishness and disregard for her own daughter's mental health and happiness. By getting a good amount of signatures on this petition, I am hoping that my mother comes to her senses and simply surrenders Mabel to her real mother, me, or if she refuses, then I will have this petition as legal evidence for a lawyer, and maybe even a courtroom judge, that it is a widespread belief that Mabel is mine and belongs with me so we can both be safe, healthy and happy. The Mayor of Ocean City, the Ocean City County Council, and most of us are in favor of green energy. However, when initiating a green project some common sense needs to be in place. The turbines initially proposed for Ocean City were 3 mega- watt units. They were 200’ tall from the water line to the hub with a 300’ blade diameter. The overall height from the waterline to the tip of the blade was therefore approximately 350’   The currently proposed turbines are 8 megawatt units, they are 370’ tall from the water line to the hub with a 550’ blade diameter. The overall height from the waterline to the tip of the blade is therefore approximately 650’ - the height of the Washington Monument and more than twice the height of the tallest building in Ocean City. When a change of this magnitude is encountered, it is not unreasonable to expect the distance from shore would increase to ensure that the turbines will not be seen from the shore. These projects are being subsidized by Maryland electric consumers through a special fee added to your electric bill.  The current proposed field off the Maryland coast consists of 86 turbines constructed in 3 phases and extends the entire length of Ocean City, from the inlet to the Delaware line. Phase 1 is located 17 miles offshore, phase 2 is 15 miles offshore and phase 3 is 13 miles offshore. The current field off Delaware supported by the Maryland subsidy consists of 15 turbines. The location starts just north of the Town of Fenwick and runs to the indian river bridge. It is located approximately 19 miles from Ocean City. There are plans to construct 50-60 additional turbines in the northern portion of the Delaware lease area but these would not be subsidized by Maryland utility customers. There are many businesses that depend on the ocean view and there are many people who value the unadulterated, untainted view of the horizon, of the sunrises that the ocean shoreline bestows. The ocean has been there long before we walked this earth. It is one of the few untouched views that are left in this world. It would be a grave mistake to take that pure, unsullied view away for the sake of 20 years of “clean” energy. We should fight to keep our visual environment CLEAN as well. We can have the wind turbines and the view with a mere ten mile east movement of the turbines.   We the taxpayers are subsidizing the turbines that will cause the destruction of a view that is unparalleled and now it is time to stand up and demand that we, the people, are heard! We do not want to see the wind turbines. U.S.Wind and Skipjack make your millions, but put the turbines OUT of our sight. They can be green and also NOT seen!

Oklahoma is obviously the best state in our country. In honor of the Sooner State, we would like to change the name of the United States of America to Oklahoma.

I've started this petition due to the realization that overturning Citizens United may be a long way off, so in the meantime, I've been thinking on ways to approach it from the grassroots level. Personally, it is my hope that voters rediscover legitimate news sources, the art of having real conversations to solve real problems, and that social media rediscovers its civic duty.

Animals are being abused by genetic scientists. Not only are the animals suffering, but by consuming these genetically engineered animals you are subject to unknown viruses and illness-causing toxins. There is at least $3 million being put into these gruesome experiments, where is it coming from? No company or person has claimed to donate this money, the question lingers in my mind, "Could this be our money, used without our permission?" Our animals are in pain, we are in pain, our planet is in pain. Change is a ripple effect, someone has to throw the first rock. Be a part of the ripple.
