Release Alejandra PablosAlejandra's case is complicated. As a young person she was arrested and convicted of several charges, including Driving Under the Influence and possession of drug paraphernalia, some of which were felonies under Arizona state law. In 2011, after she complied with the orders from the court, she spent 2 years at the Eloy Detention Center in Southern Arizona, lost her residency, and was placed in deportation proceedings. But since Alejandra was released from detention she has worked to advocate for human and civil rights, dedicating her life to organizing against the attacks on immigrant rights and fighting for reproductive rights. As part of her local organizing, in early January of this year, as Alejandra was leading chants at a peaceful protest in Virginia outside of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), she was singled out and detained by DHS agents. Although she was released, this flagged her case. When Alejandra showed up to her check-in with ICE in Tucson, she was taken into custody and not allowed to pay a bond. Alejandra is a nationally recognized immigrant rights and reproductive rights, activist. She works as a Field Coordinator for the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, where she organizes to raise the voices of Latinas in Virginia for policy change at all levels of government on issues that impact their lives, women’s health care, and other social justice issues. Alejandra has been a staunch advocate for immigration reform and mass incarceration. She is a member of Mijente, a national political Latinx organization, and has worked with many immigrant rights and prison abolition organizers throughout the country.359 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Jacinta Gonzalez

We want Moses returned to the Charlevoix High School and his classmates! It is the continuation of our request to bring our special need son back to the school and classmates he was with for five years. He is now in a non-inclusive program (totally different) and we believe wrong and harmful to him. He is not with the classmates and non-disabled peers (per the IDEA) and they have him on a bus for one hour and twenty minutes one way,165 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Toni R Jakubowski

Missouri Lawmakers: Save DMH Regional Center Services for Our ChildrenMy family will be personally impacted by this change in qualifying for DMH Regional Center case management and services. Our case manager has been with us for 20 years and knows my son's needs extremely well. Like many Missouri families, we are in danger of losing our case manager and the services that my son currently has because we will not qualify for Medicaid (which is a new requirement this year). I advocate for many families in Missouri and they are very concerned about losing this valuable resource. Some families only have their Regional case manager to advocate for their child. Now, they will be with no one. Case managers will only be allowed to work with Medicaid families and anyone else will be stripped of their case management and redirected to a "referral" phone contact that won't know their child and can only provide contact information for outside resources. The personal interaction between case managers and families will be gone. And Regional Center funding for these services will be gone as well.35 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cate Hall

Pennsylvania Net NeutralityNet Neutrality is a 21st century First Amendment right. As important as Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, the economy, the fabric of society, and innovation. Allowing corporate America to take control of what can be seen or sent over the Net is wrong. Comcast has already begun selling faster business lanes for those who can afford it. Which a small business cannot. Time is quickly running out on this issue. Please sign on.41 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Walter Mayer

Montana "Fake" Service Dog LawMaking it illegal in Montana to misrepresent or falsify a service dog or a service dog in training. I personally have observed people placing service dog vests on "pets" to avoid additional costs for air travel and lodging. People taking advantage of this only makes it more difficult for legitimate service dog teams and people with disabilities.325 of 400 SignaturesCreated by David Riggs

Tell UCSD to Reduce Consumption of Animal ProductsIn an effort to increase campus wide sustainability, overall health of students, staff and faculty, and awareness of animal agriculture's effect on the environment, UC San Diego should reduce consumption of meat, egg and dairy by 15% in all on campus dining facilities by 2025. By providing more appetizing and healthy alternatives to animal products, it is our hope that HDH will successfully decrease its dependency of meat, dairy and eggs. The manufacturing of animal products (meat, eggs, and dairy) is a major contributor to climate change. The unsustainable practices of industrial animal agriculture have massive implications on the environment; emitting methane at an uncontrollable rate, sucking the land dry of water and nutrients, causing extensive pollution and destroying ecosystems and biodiversity. The main reason animal agriculture persists despite its horrific ramifications is consumer preference. We must act now to phase out the production and sale of animal products in order to save the planet and our future. This initiative correlates with the UC system’s goal to execute the Carbon Neutrality Initiative, which “commits UC to emitting net zero greenhouse gases from its buildings and vehicle fleet by 2025.” While carbon neutrality is a huge success, it only accounts for fossil fuel emissions and neglects greenhouse gases from other sectors, including animal agriculture.
