I was shown an ad, a sponsored post, from NRA-TV in my Facebook newsfeed today. I am completely opposed to the NRA and its reign of terror over our country, promoting the sale of assault weapons and using that money to buy our elected officials. I am incensed that Facebook takes money from them and shows me their ads in my feed.

To uninvite the NRA from holding their convention in Nebraska

On March 5th, 2018, Senator Schumer stood before 18,000 AIPAC activists and told them what they wanted to hear: Israeli settlements in the West Bank are not an obstacle to peace. This ridiculous statement brought the AIPAC crowd to its feet, but it further damaged the cause of Israeli-Palestinian peace. As a seasoned politician, Senator Schumer must know the truth: settlements are a chief obstacle to peace. Yet he chose to misrepresent the facts in pandering to AIPAC. Unless settlements stop expanding and unless many are removed, Palestinians cannot have a viable state. That is, in fact, the objective of those who support and advance settlement construction. Without the creation of a Palestinian state, Israel risks becoming either a binational state and losing its Jewish character, or becoming an international pariah in which a Jewish minority rules over a disenfranchised Palestinian majority. As Schumer must know, either scenario jeopardizes Israel's future. It's time for him to tell the truth.

The Bronzeville neighborhood is beginning to flourish! Opportunities for new housing, new businesses have grown. To meet the total needs of the neighborhood, new schools need to be an option for current residences, and motivation for new residences as well.

Today, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that he was suing the state of California over pro-immigrant laws that protect Californians against the overreaches and abuses of Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE). Jeff Sessions' lawsuit against California, the most immigrant-populous state, is simply the Trump Administration's latest attack on the immigrant community. Immigrant-friendly policies like the California "Values Act" makes everyone safer by promoting trust between immigrants and local law enforcement officials. Furthermore, courts have repeatedly ruled that the Trump Administration's policies on detaining immigrants are unconstitutional. But Jeff Sessions and Donald Trump don’t seem to care. California Governor Jerry Brown referred to Jeff Sessions' attacks on his state were nothing more than a "political stunt." Attorney General Sessions is seeking to undermine due process and state policies dedicated to protecting diverse communities. The United States is a nation of immigrants and this lawsuit tramples on American values. Please sign this petition thanking California leaders for and letting them know that we stand with them in supporting immigrants.

We do not want to convert the Sterling Relief Drain Corridor from Dequindre to Freedom Hill into a 'drain trail' that is touted by Macomb County. We feel the trails are redundant and the 8 million should be spent for other infrastructure, specifically our roads.
