I write this petition so that we can build a coalition against districts of unusual shape, which often characterize gerrymandered electoral maps. Care will have to be taken to identify what constitutes an edge in the border of a district, to distinguish between borders which coincide with bodies of water, or external political boundaries, which may include sharp changes of direction, but which should be considered as part of a single edge -- as opposed to artificially legislated edges, whose complexity is engineered without regard to geographical barriers.

By merging election day and Veterans day, and establishing the first friday after the first Monday in November as national elections day, all Americans, regardless of race, age, or social standing, will have an equal opportunity to vote. Further, the national recognition of our veterans on a day when elections are on everyone's mind will compound the national respect for these heros.

The U.S. Department of Interior announced they would open up nearly all United States waters to offshore oil drilling. Most parts of the outer continental shelf would be opened–rolling back existing protections, putting these sensitive marine environments and the species that live in them at risk of death or injury. Sea otters, orca whales, leatherback sea turtles, and dozens more marine mammals, reptiles, birds, and fish already subject to threats from deadly fishing nets and ocean pollution could be put in extreme peril under Secretary Zinke's plan. Tell Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke that you do not support reckless oil and gas drilling and that he should focus his energy and time on finding clean, renewable energy sources and safeguarding our nation's wildlife and wild places.

It would be just as reasonable to replace the words "under God" with "in this simulation". This is a secular nation. The words are a slap in the face to millions of agnostics, atheists, polytheists etc.

Homeless Veterans I am employed as a Veteran's advocate through my State. In the 11+ years I've been there, I've sought programs for many veterans in need. I spent a lot of time calling to look for resources available and for various reasons no one can help 99% of the time.

As a registered nurse, I know the negative impact on health of refined sugar and saturated fat. These food additives can cause a range of health problems. 1. refined sugar contributes to diabetes with it's neurological and kidney complications; 2. saturated fat contributes to breast cancer and heart disease. Health care costs and mortality rates will increase.

It's been over a year since the 2016 election, and the American public still knows shamefully little about Russia's attack on the integrity of our elections. To make matters worse, Donald Trump's allies are deliberately misleading the public and muddying the waters with conspiracy theories. Chief among these efforts is a smear campaign against Fusion GPS, a firm hired to investigate Trump's Russian business connections. By selectively leaking misleading information from Congressional transcripts to right-wing news outlets, Trump's defenders are attempting to derail the legitimate inquiry into Russia's meddling. We must put a stop to this. Congress must immediately release the full transcripts of its more than 20 hours of closed-door interviews with Fusion GPS so the American people can judge for themselves what happened. Senator Chuck Grassley, the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and other congressional leaders promised a transparent process but they have left the American people in the dark about this direct attack on our democracy by a hostile foreign power. But the vacuum created by Congress' secrecy has been filled by an extensive campaign by overzealous defenders of President Trump to attempt to discredit the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and to sew confusion with the public. It is time for Members of Congress to put their country before their party and start giving the Americans they represent some answers. CNN is allowing a right-wing, anti-immigrant extremist group to run racist ads that scare Americans about family-based immigration. NumbersUSA, a group founded by white nationalist John Tanton, is airing a controversial ad that promotes Donald Trump’s racist agenda against immigrants. In their ad, NumbersUSA attacks family values by going after immigrants in the US who sponsor close relatives for green cards. Our laws allow some relatives of American citizens and legal residents to immigrate to the United States, because US policies support family unity. But NumbersUSA, which is against all kinds of immigration, wants to demonize this system. In their view, it leads to “too many” people of color in America. Throughout the years, NumbersUSA has helped derail bipartisan immigration reform legislation in Congress, while working to carry out John Tanton’s vision of limiting immigration of non-white immigrants to the United States. Even worse, NumbersUSA’s leader, Roy Beck, has been known to edit race-baiting articles from a racist journal known as the Social Contract Press. Right now, CNN is airing a six-figure ad buy from NumbersUSA in Washington DC. If CNN wants to truly be “fair and balanced,” it should not air advertising from hate groups like NumbersUSA. This group is not a legitimate commentator on immigration; it's a right-wing extremist group trying to push Donald Trump’s xenophobic agenda and it must be stopped immediately! Please sign this petition and tell CNN to stop giving airtime to right-wing extremist groups like NumbersUSA.

As the cannabis market moves forward US companies are being forced to play a game of wait and see. By continuing to keep cannabis illegal we are robbing investors and entrepreneurs of their chance to profit in an emerging market projected to be worth $18 billion by 2021. Jeff Sessions' attitude towards cannabis, as the Attorney General, is negatively influencing what could be a billion-dollar boon to the US economy and therefore does not deserve the title of Attorney General.

I am personally affected every single day with how slow our internet is. My workflow is hindered by our bandwidth, and I find a lot of time being wasted waiting for pages to load, even on sales calls. I personally believe that faster internet and a higher bandwidth would increase the productivity and revenue office-wide.
