Huntleigh Workers Deserve Living Wages and a Union!Huntleigh airport workers make Dulles airport run. We are the attendants, checkpoint agents, baggage handlers, and skycaps who help you get to your flight safely so that you can spend time with the ones you love most. All we want for the holidays is a living wage and a union so that we can take care of our families. We care about our passengers and we work very hard to ensure that travelers have a safe and clean airport. We want to focus on keeping passengers safe, rather than being fired at will. Please join us and call on Huntleigh to stop blocking workers who are trying to improve our jobs so we can provide for our families this holiday season.129 of 200 SignaturesCreated by 32BJ SEIU

Save the internet: Overturn the FCC's repeal of Net Neutrality!July 2018 update: The FCC's repeal of net neutrality went into effect on June 11th. Now it's even more important to get lawmakers to act. Senators passed a resolution to save net neutrality via the Congressional Review Act. It's up to our congressional representatives to do the same. ------- On December 14, the Federal Communications Commission repealed net neutrality, handing control of the internet to Big Telecom. The repeal of net neutrality gives monopolistic internet providers like Verizon, Comcast, and AT&T the power to block, censor, and slow down your favorite sites on the web. 83% of Americans support net neutrality protections. Congress, as the oversight body for the FCC, can overturn this massive giveaway to the telecom industry. Since the FCC voted to end net neutrality, 20 senators have already pledged to reverse the FCC's vote, and we can convince others to join us. We need to build on this momentum -- tell your member of Congress to support the resolution to restore net neutrality now!108,648 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Tell Congress: Puerto Ricans need government help & transparency nowHere are areas Congress must address to help Puerto Rico: Relief package Congress must move quickly on the $94 billion aid package requested by the Puerto Rican government. The initial $15 billion aid package is far short of what is needed. The generosity of everyday Americans — including groups like the Hispanic Federation and many MoveOn members — helped to provide food and water to those in need. But that's not enough. Puerto Rico needs more disaster aid and the federal government needs to ensure that all funds are distributed fairly, efficiently, and without any further delay. Community-Driven Rebuilding Congress established the Financial Oversight and Management Board (FOMB) to oversee the Island’s debt. The entity is far too removed from Puerto Rico’s communities to properly identify needs and allocate resources. Congress and federal agencies should explore alternatives to the unelected FOMB that rely on existing structures, precedent, and the leadership of disaster recovery and reconstruction experts working hand-in-hand with affected communities. Debt relief Puerto Rico's creditors should do the right thing and walk away. It is the only way forward. Anything short of full debt forgiveness would be a brutal form of economic punishment to a people already suffering. Taxes Since the now-passed tax reform legislation treats Puerto Rico as a foreign jurisdiction, tell Congress they must remedy that immediately as well making tax benefits and incentives like the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit available for Puerto Rico's working families. Healthcare 3.4 million Americans live on the island, but Puerto Rico receives only a small portion of the Medicaid funding that it would qualify for as a state. The island’s hospitals and health centers are struggling in the wake of the storm. We all have watched in horror how the death toll has been undercounted—by perhaps 1,000 people, according to credible estimates. With the health of so many at risk, let's provide Medicaid parity while streamlining enrollment to many who are not working and need health care. There's no shortage of compassion and goodwill for Puerto Rico among the American people. But it must be matched by the recognition of our government that the American citizens of Puerto Rico need, demand, and require equal treatment. Please sign this petition to join the work Power 4 Puerto Rico and I are doing to help Puerto Ricans.218,308 of 300,000 SignaturesCreated by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Power 4 Puerto Rico

My TIPS are mine!! Stop the Trump administration and DOL from stealing from the most vulnerable ...Not only would this proposed change fundamentally shift the tradition and purpose of tipping in our country, it would be the equivalent of stealing from society's most vulnerable to address their shortcomings in paying the untipped kitchen staff. For me, in my best estimates, this would be on average a 23% pay cut. The DOL should NOT change current regulations regarding servers tips!!1,542 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Joan Jakoubek

Congress should take action to protect Net NeutralityThe FCC has voted to reverse the policy of Net Neutrality; despite a letter sent prior to their decision by the Attorney General of New York State. This letter alleges fraudulent negative statements involving possible Identity theft made during the comment period. Congress should suspend implementation of this policy until an investigation of these allegations is made80 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael Steiner

Renovate Brookville Park Football Field Now!!!My son is one of approximately 200 young people who participate as a member of the Rosedale Jets Football Program. The turf field at Brookville Park is cushioned with rubber pellets. Because of normal wear and tear the pellets are no longer under the turf but are escaping and sitting on the surface of the turf. In the age of concussions, this is unacceptable. Our community park needs to be renovated to properly support and serve our young people. This program is helping to not only teach young people football and cheerleading but more importantly, it is a young person's mentoring program to help stem the tide of underperformance in education. As our young people play at different fields in other communities they are given the stark message that they are undeserving of the same quality of public recreation space as their contemporaries. This is unacceptable and we can change this by standing together.318 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Kareem R. Vessup

We need a FULL ban on fracking in the Delaware River BasinA ban in name only is wrong for the Delaware River Basin. The Delaware River is a treasure that belongs to the public, not to the highest bidder. Fracking has no place in the Delaware River watershed -- or anywhere else, for that matter. The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) -- an interstate agency made up of the governors from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware, plus a federal representative -- is responsible for protecting the Delaware River Basin from dangerous actions like fracking. But the DRBC's proposed fracking regulations are a half-measure that won't fully protect the Delaware River Basin or the people who rely on it. The regulations leave the door open to both fracking waste and water withdrawals for fracking, endangering a drinking water source for millions of people. Only a full ban on fracking and fracking-related activities can keep our water safe. Tell the DRBC we need a comprehensive fracking ban, not a toothless half-measure.78 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Miranda Carter, Food & Water Watch
